Once again the locals pointed us in the right direction. The three dishes we tried were absolutely delicious.
Chicken mole was probably one of the best I've tried anywhere. It was of the sweet variety but not an off putting sweetness, just right. The mole sauce is made from scratch we were told. Definitely try the mole.
Caldo de res was also delicious. It came with an enormous piece of tender beef and plenty of vegetables. Broth had the perfect amount of salt and let the vegetables and beef flavor shine through.
The cheese chile relleno was tasty as well. I left wanting to order another. The refried beans that accompany the dish are fried with lard, that just immediately takes them up two or three notches. The rice was just okay for me but far from being bad.
Pro tip: DO NOT skip the chips and salsa. The salsa was one of the best I've had at a restaurant. Great flavor and a little heat to it.
