My family of 5 dined it because of a tour immediate regret. The food was not good at all the food wasn’t made well and it wasn’t good. Me my wife and my daughter shared the “molacajete”. Extremely overpriced for nothing so bad. Us three we have been throwing up none stop since we’ve had the food. We’ve all got food poisoning and have been throwing up all day. DON’T EAT. One other member of our group left his bag there and when we called and asked for it they said they didn’t have it. Everyone knew that they did because we were the last people there and in pictures and photos it’s there and we called twice but they said they didn’t have it. So bad I don’t recommend at all. The member that left his bag is vegetarian and they didn’t have vegetarian options. Don’t eat or dine there or if you do be extremely careful of the food you order and be careful of...
Read moreLa Cueva Del Mitote has a really unique atmosphere—it’s not every day you get to eat inside an underground cave! After a long, hot day at the Teotihuacan pyramids, our tour guide recommended this spot. The ambiance was definitely cool, but the prices were a bit high for what you get.
I tried the orange and regular lemonades, which were just okay. I also had a beer with a honey and sesame seed rim, but unfortunately, that one was a miss for me. For food, the bean tlacoyos were tasty, and the molcajete was packed with chicken, beef, cactus, and stuffed jalapeños—flavorful and very filling!
Overall, it's worth visiting for the experience, but the food and drinks didn’t quite live up to the price. Still, if you're in the area and want to try something different,...
Read moreDelicious, high quality, flavorful food and friendly service. Highly recommended in the Teotihuacan area.
We were brought here by our Airbnb guide. Apparently there are many tourist traps around the area but this is not one.
They make homemade nopal tortillas here. We tried the green mole chicken with rice and the enchiladas with red & green mole. All dishes were large and filling, not to mention flavorful and you could tell everything was made with care & passion.
There was a mariachi band for entertainment and the restaurant treated us to tequila shots because it was a member of our group’s birthday. The atmosphere in the cave was also interesting but a bit dim for taking good pictures of the food!
Look no further if you’re hungry while visiting...
