My 2 star rating is a little tricky, so let me explain. I got the Lobster Fettuccine Alfredo dish, and got the absolute worst food poisoning in my life from it! This might not be the fault of the cook, it could just be a shellfish issue, but I tell you, I will never forget the aftermath! That would be a 1star rating.
I came here with two friends who are vegetarian, and they had no issue at all with their food so this had to be the lobster I ate!
If I had not gotten so sick, I would have said that the atmosphere was really nice, and very Italian in its decor. That would hit a five star.
The service was exceptionally slow, and they looked horribly under staffed in both the kitchen and front of the house. Having cooked myself in restaurants long ago, an understaffed kitchen can lead to mistakes, including food sanitation. Possible cause of my sickness? 2 star.
Food flavor etc. If my pasta dish didn’t almost kill me, I would have said that it was mediocre by my standards but I come from a foodie hotbed in Portland, Oregon. It’s probably on par with Rolandi’s here. Pasta was a bit over cooked and flavor was a bit mediocre. There were two very small lobster tais in the dish, but not so small I would have felt ripped off by the price, but yeah the food poisoning…. Sans food poisoning I’d give it 2-3 star.
I did sample one of my friends pizza slices. That was typical of pizza here on the island. Standard thin crust and very heavy on the cheese. I have yet to find a high quality Nepali style pizza on the island. Who ever does it right first in Cozumel will likely have an incredible thriving business!
I’m summery the space is nice, food is okay, unless you have the bad luck that I did and it feels like you’re going to die a couple...
Read moreUsually a good place for dinner but horrible experience here Tuesday night. Orders weren't correct, the food served had strange ingredients not listed on the menu. When asked about this issue the waiter abandoned our table completely. So we resorted to doing our own table service, transporting plates to kitchen, going to bar for more drinks. Had to wait 15 minutes for dessert menu then went to kitchen to advise our order n were told they only had 2 of the dessert options available - neither of which we wanted. Went inside again to get bill and I asked for manager. Turns out the "waiter" who abandoned us WAS the manager and he didn't want to hear anything I had to say. Tried 6 times to pay with card but they said they had no connection so ended up having to scrounge cash to pay bill. Total disaster all...
Read moreExcellent casual dining place for Italian and pizza! Sangria is incredibly tasty! The garden seating area is much improved with less grass (less mosquitoes) and more flooring. We sat inside for wanting a/c but don't bother - the 1 a/c shows to be on but doesn't cool and there is a terrible echo issue no matter where you sit so not only are you forced to listen to everyone else's convo but it's impossible to enjoy your own group's dinner discussion. I had the lasagna while hubs had chicken Florentine with sangria. Both were delicious but service was slow/lacking - the sangria was served hot - like the wine bottle had been next to the oven or something. Still nice place give a try because the food is...
