The one we went to was a couple of blocks North (actually NE) from Ave 13 on Ave 30. There is another with the same name just South of 13 a couple of blocks. I had the tacos al pastor and they were very tasty. The meat was chopped up and sauted rather than sliced off of the pastor roast and put directly on the taco. i can't complain because it tasted so good. I forgot to ask for pineapple and i was thinking it might be standard for the area, but i guess not. The jamaica was very good and so was the service. I think our total bill was about $170 pesos for two people and we walked away very full.
Here it is a year or so later...We ordered tacos al pastor again and this time I asked for pineapple and got it, along with chopped onions and cilantro. They were served with small, green peppers and two kinds of salsa. It was a bit hot and humid and the waiter turned on a couple of fans which made everyone very comfortable. The tacos may have been the best tacos al pastor that I've ever had, and I've eaten them in at least 3 states. The service was very quick and the atmosphere is very friendly. Read moreWell, it's one of those hit and miss places. Do not order any of the taco plates, and stick to the Alambre, as the prepare both the same. They throw around 4 tortillas and a mound of beef and cheese on top. Therefore you have to separate all the meat and cheese to individually assemble your tacos on to the tortillas on the bottom. They use Xacaca Cheese, which stays melted and soft for around a minute. So, if you do not assemble your tacos right away, the cheese becomes a petrified Forest in no time, and hard to get it right.
