Restaurant El Rancho — Restaurant in Tamaulipas

What a great place! Honestly, it is an escape from both Laredos. Although I am fairly new to the Nuevo Laredo scene, I love this restaurant as the atmosphere is amazing, the waiting staff was great, and the fact that they have musicians and singers playing from time to time just makes the place great. As for the food, wow! It is some of the tastiest things I have ever tried and it is something I recommend to anybody in the area to try. Food was below my expectations, reminds me of Carlos and Mikey's of El Paso. Purely tourist food, that is neither tasty not appealing.

The mole was bitter and flavourless, it did not have the normal texture and flavour explosion it should have. This mole taste of bitterness and a stale and metallic after taste. The tostasdas were. Both bitter and sour, lacked the after taste of corn they should normally have.

If given the chance to try this location again for my patronage, I would politely decline and take my patronage to a mom...

Today is memorial Day the restaurant is open this morning. We are here ordering breakfast. A little bit of everything was served. Not one for all this food which some of it I cannot see myself eating for breakfast but the eggs, bacon, refried beans and tortilla chips with cheese and tomatillo salsa was great tasting and fresh. Service was amazing, area is clean, atmosphere is nice. The walls have colorful murals very artistically done. My family love coming here everytime they come to Mexico...
