Tera — Restaurant in Tamaulipas

I'm giving it 2 stars as the flavors seemed ok. We ordered from this restaurant because it is in eye shot of our hotel and we were looking forward to a hot meal and a movie my last night in Tampico. My girlfriend lives in Madero and I in San Antonio. I'm not sure if they miss understood where our hotel is, my girl is a native spanish speaker. Or maybe the driver decided to drop our food off last on the way back. That is what I assume happened as the 30 minute quote turned into over an hour. I don't feel he deserved the 200 pesos tip I gave on the 600 peso order. Because I returned to my room and opened the bag to luke warm entrees and cold appetizers. I would of walked over to pick it up as I have walked to the Degas coffee shop in their plaza daily for the last 2 weeks and the Applebee's on a couple occasions. Primera y ÚLTIMA vez que comemos aquí. Nos estábamos hospedando en el hotel que está a un lado y pues decidimos ir con vestimenta casual y usando crocs porque solo pensábamos ir a cenar y regresar inmediatamente. Desde que llegamos los meseros/host no fueron tan amigables porque no teníamos reservación (cabe aclarar que no sabíamos que solo puedes comer ahí con reservación), nos dejaron sentarnos en las mesas de afuera sin siquiera ofrecernos la opción de poder pasar en dado caso que se desocupara una mes, cosa que SI hicieron con parejas que llegaron después que nosotros y SIN reservación.

Nos dieron la carta y nos dejaron ahí, tardaron aprox 8-10 min en preguntarnos si queríamos algo de beber y al pedir se fue y tardaron otros 10 minutos en traernos UNA margarita y UNA limonada mineral, hasta que llevaron las bebidas ordenamos.

Mi acompañante pidió un rollo clásico “SPICY TUNA”, el cual tardaron unos 15-20 minutos en llegar, el rollo dejó muchísimo que desear, era muy pequeño y en nuestra opinión la porción no era suficiente para un adulto.

En lo personal me decidí por pedir CURRY DE RES Y POLLO, y fue una total decepción, el curry DEBERÍA ser espeso y lo que sirvieron era una sopa, que además estaba súper salada, los “cubos de curry” estaban sin disolver y si los mordías eran una pasta asquerosa, los fideos de udon estaban sobre cocidos, ademas de que estaban en mini pedazos cuando se supone que son igual de largos que los fideos de ramen, la carne estaba dura y su sabor no era el mejor, algunos de los vegetales estaban negros en las orillas como si los hubieran quemado.

Los platillos dejan MUCHÍSIMO QUE DESEAR

Además pudimos observar cómo los platos los transportan destapados de la cocina hacia el restaurante porque se encuentran separados.

Definitivamente no recomendaríamos este lugar y no volveremos a consumir aquí, no creemos darle otra oportunidad en el futuro y eso que hemos consumido en Kurai en diversas ocasiones y en distintas...

A hidden gem. Walked in here just to check it out. Bit strange feeling walking through the heavy curtains. Not sure if someone was going to jump at us on the other side.. Haha But what a surprise! Once inside the restaurant is nicely decorated and really clean. The ambient is also very chill. Nice friendly staff as well. And the most important.. The food was really good! Both my colleague and I really enjoyed what we ordered....
