Kiku Steak & Wine — Restaurant in Botanica Sector

We heard about this restaurant and it was presented very nicely during a show on TV and we were impressed and really wanted to try their food. FOREMOST.. the owner was not present and the food is/was not prepared by him - when we asked the waiter he said " well, you know.. TV and reality are different". Secondly, we ordered 5 different steaks after carefully asked and listened all the descriptions given by the waiter. When the steaks arrived, the food was rather cold and 2 out of 5 dishes were having huge amounts of garlic, big chops of it actually. We made a remark about this to the waiter( as we asked in advance if it has a lot of garlic and he assured us it was VERY LESS garlic and more of a subtle garlic sauce) and he became rather rude - sort of telling us that many clients even ask for more garlic. Since the restrictions imposed during this month, all restaurants close at 10pm - and that is not an issue - but we were the only table ( out of 3 tables with groups) asked to leave the restaurant, although we were actually waiting for the bill and the change.. which we needed to ask again. We visited the restaurant in Apr24 thanks to the high reviews. The steak was brought to us before being grilled, looked amazing. The service was fast and steak prepared perfectly. Really very tasty and recommend. We took a taxi there and the restaurant ordered a taxi back. Each taxi ride was about £3.

This is the definition of a hidden gem. I was told about this restaurant and i still had a hard time finding it ( it’s right underneath the MAIB bank). If you drive to this place, you will have hard time finding a parking spot. However, the food and the service were amazing. I tried fillet Mignon which comes with pesto sauce and veggies and it was perfection. My friend tried turkey breast with apple and some type of sauce which was scrumptious.
