Restaurant Al Walima — Restaurant in Agadir

Food was pretty poor by Agadir standards. Lamb tagine was mostly fat with two prunes. Wouldn't recommend.

EDIT: The response from the owners is completely false and a completely fabricated story. I had not cancelled the food at all and no questions were asked as none were neccessary. In fact it was the male waiter who took our order.

The truth is the food was poor, no interaction was had before leaving and no introduction to the tangine was given. I had several tangines during my time in Morocco and this was by far the worst. The " Chefs salad" was also extremely poor. It consisted of chopped up betroot, carrots, cucumber, boiled eggs and plain boiled rice. The dressing was a mustard mayonnaise. The defensive posturing from the owners here is indicative of their poor standards.

This restaraunt is rated highly on Google maps but it is clearly a fabricated rating. If you're a tourist please avoid this place. There are many other better options on Rue...

Quite frankly, a disappointing experience especially since its so highly reviewed.

Now the negatives No aircon or at least i could not tell if there was aircon. It's july... I might be spoilt with regards to flavour due to my south asian background, but quite frankly the flavour of the food is bland. The khabsah is nothing like arab khabsah I've had in dubai/saudi, the rice is basically tumeric rice with a bunch of elaichi (cardamom), cloves, star anise added on top. Tasted bad. the meat in the khabsah was nice the fries we ordered seems to be either refried or just plain bad the mix grill was tiny. Women or kid sized The amount of meat in khabsah which tasted nice was inadequate for the amount of rice or the amount paid.

Just came across this restaurant whilst walking around town and was surprised with the quality of food. Very tasty and affordable. Ordered mixed fish and meat grill, really tasty and such a huge portion. The service was also fantastic and our waiter Khalid was very nice, friendly, and accommodating. Will definitely go back to try other dishes!
