From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly and were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the meal. They made thoughtful suggestions from the menu and ensured that everything came out perfectly prepared. You can really tell they take pride in their service — we never had to wait long for anything, and their attention to detail made the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.

Au Calme has to be on your list of stops in Oualidia. The minute you will step into this lovely restaurant, you will embark on a truly wonderful culinary journey. The food is absolutely exquisite, and the owner is kind, funny and energetic, and will go to great lengths to make your time at his restaurant very worthwhile. We were offered free entrées and complimentary mint tea and cookies at the end, but mostly, we ended up spending three magical hours doing nothing more than enjoy one tasty dish after the other, whilst basking in the warm Oualidia sun. This place, quite literally as its name states, will immerse you in a state of calm, and your seafood cravings are guaranteed to be satisfied by the hardworking people in the restaurant's kitchen. The fish is fresh from the sea, rendering this gastronomical voyage much richer. On the recommandation of friends we went to have lunch at the Crabe. As I partly live in Morocco, I am sort of used to go to restaurants here and receive a good treat. But what Abdeslam offered us, was above & beyond the 'normal' Moroccan reception. His handling was kind, well thought and quite honest. Also on the absence of spirits and wines, to which he calmly responded: well, I do not fancy it every much, alcohol, and I do my best here, with my family, and all is fresh. And so it was! We took all sorts of different parts of the menu, oysters that were put in the oven for a moment (with delicious herbs, olive oil and garlic), poulpe (sliced squid) in a very good tomato sauce. And as my friend ordered fish soup, I was given some of it as well - "as it was there in the kitchen" anyway.. A thing which is unthinkable in Marrakech nowadays!
