Restaurant Chouf L'Or — Restaurant in Marrakesh Prefecture

During my visit to Marrakech, I really wanted to take a cooking class. I chose Chouf L'Or because of the many positive reviews. I booked the cooking class including pickup and received immediate confirmation. When I still hadn't received a pickup notification on the morning of the activity, I called the number provided several times but was never able to reach anyone. When I called the restaurant directly, I was told someone would call me back right away. When no one called me back after 30 minutes, I called again. They then told me the driver would pick me up. I asked where exactly he would pick me up from, as a meeting point hadn't been agreed upon at that time. The answer was that they couldn't tell me and that I would receive a call back. Sure enough, a few minutes later, I received a call back, telling me where to wait. After waiting at the meeting point for about 10 minutes, I received another call telling me the driver wouldn't be coming because it was too late. I explained that this was the organizer's incompetence and that I wanted my money back, but they simply hung up. Hands down, the best meal and the best dining experience in Morocco.

My aunts and I were on our last day in Marrakesh and decided to book a last minute cooking class so we can learn how to make tajine.

The pick-up was super organized and when we arrived there, we were greeted by a whimsical ambience and mint tea.

The kitchen is absolutely spotlessly clean and Ikram and Fadwa showed us how to cook chicken Tajine! Clear, step-by-step instructions and very insightful!

We thought that was already the highlight of our experience but we met the owners, Khadija, Ahmed and their sweet daughter Chaimae who gave us time with their stories, showered us with wonderful surprises of desert and thoughtful presents when I mentioned my bday in passing. I am blessed and happy that I've now made friends in Morocco!

It was the best end of trip experience I've had in all my years of traveling. I definitely recommend going for cooking classes or dining at their restaurant. Definifely coming back!

What made it even more special was the warm and attentive service. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely cared about our experience. They checked in regularly to make sure everything was to our liking, asked if we needed anything else, and ensured we were fully satisfied with our meal.

We enjoyed it so much that we came back the very next day! It’s rare to find a place that offers both exceptional food and such heartfelt hospitality.
