We were originally visiting Pumdikot Shivji's idol and temple, however, we were very hungry. On our way back, my eyes caught a sign advertising Ayurvedic momos - very interesting! And that was when we decided to go inside the restaurant named Damaru to see what the momos were like - though we decided not to have them. A man took us on a tour around the restaurant, very briefly, and we went up a few flights of stairs to the rooftop. The view was absolutely breathtaking! We decided to order some masala chai though we weren't very hungry and the kids just lingered around, taking photos. It was foggy, unfortunately, but the view was still beautiful with the idol of Shivji in front and rolling mountains all across, as well as, the World Peace Pagoda in the distance perched on a mountaintop. The lake was visible and vaguely, we could see the Himalayas. The man who took us upstairs showed us a photo of what it looked like on a clear day with the Himalayan range clearly visible - I wish we got to see that! The tea, itself, was very nice without sugar though because we requested that and the salt and pepper were shaped as a shivling. Overall, highly recommend this place. It has nice food and great views and very friendly...
Read moreThis restaurant offers a dining experience that is as cinematic as it is satisfying. The panoramic views alone make it worth the visit, and the well-designed seating area ensures you can fully enjoy the beauty of Pokhara while dining. The food is absolutely delicious, though it may take a little longer than usual to arrive. However, the wait is well worth it! The Chef’s Special Paneer Bao is a must-try—soft, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. The Paneer Biryani is another standout, with a rich blend of spices and textures. For an authentic Nepali touch, the Sinsno Soup is highly recommended—warm, comforting, and full of traditional flavors. The staff is polite, attentive, and communicates well, enhancing the overall dining experience. The vegetarian menu is delightful, offering a great variety of flavorful options. While the pricing is on the slightly higher side, the quality and taste justify the cost. Overall, this is a fantastic place to dine, especially if you're looking for great food with a view. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait, but rest assured—it’s worth it! Highly...
Read moreThis place in Pokhara, especially Pumdikot, is really amazing. It used to be just a spot where people sold regular Nepali food under the name Thakali. But now, it's totally different. The chefs here are super educated and skilled. It's cool to see a place that used to only sell cheap eats as a pumdikot now offering such great food initated by 2 scientist one in veracular woods and one renowed food scientist. Even experts like me think it's fantastic. I chatted with the team, and they're all professionals with experience from big cities like Delhi and Chennai, and also from fancy hotels. The food tastes great and the atmosphere is awesome. Despite some distractions on the way, I suggest you go and see for yourself. Don't pay too much attention to negative reviews from people who don't really know gourmet food. If you have questions, just call the management. And let's not forget about their amazing Ayurvedic momo – it's a must-try! If anything goes wrong ask managment team for number and called both...
