I recently dined at Newari Bhoj in Pokhara, and I must say that the restaurant offers an exceptional and authentic Newari culinary experience. The food served here truly captures the essence of Newari cuisine, providing a delightful taste of tradition and culture.

From the moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that reflected the rich heritage of the Newari community. The attentive staff members were knowledgeable about the dishes and were more than willing to assist in selecting the best options.

The menu at Newari Bhoj is a treasure trove of traditional Newari delicacies. The extensive range of dishes includes popular Newari specialties such as Choila, Bara, Yomari, and Kwati. Each dish is prepared with meticulous attention to detail and authentic ingredients, ensuring an unforgettable culinary journey.

I was particularly impressed with the flavors and textures of the food. The dishes showcased a perfect balance of spices, herbs, and local ingredients, resulting in a harmonious and tantalizing blend of flavors. The authenticity of the cuisine truly transported me to the heart of the Newari culture.

In addition to the remarkable food, the restaurant provides a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The decor and ambiance reflect the traditional Newari aesthetic, creating a charming and immersive dining experience.

Overall, Newari Bhoj in Pokhara is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Newari culinary adventure. The restaurant's commitment to preserving and showcasing the rich flavors of Newari cuisine is commendable, and I highly recommend it to all food enthusiasts looking for a memorable and truly authentic...

I was in Pokhara for two days and was seriously craving aloo tama. After searching online, I found a restaurant named Newari Bhoj and decided to give it a try. When I asked if they had tama, they confirmed they did, so we went in, hoping for a satisfying meal.

We ordered a veg thali and started eating. The food itself was good, but the service was painfully slow. At one point, we asked for additional bhatta (roasted soybeans) and mula ko achar (Nepali style radish pickle), but to our surprise, they told us it was already finished. It was only 11:30 AM. How can a Newari restaurant run out of such basic side dishes so early in the day? That was already disappointing, but what made the experience worse was the attitude of the staffs and completely unbothered.

Then came the payment issue. By mistake, we ended up paying twice. When we realized this and requested a refund, the staff told us they had to call the manager or the owner (we weren’t sure who exactly). We asked how they would process the refund, if they needed our details or bank information, but the response we got was shockingly rude. One of the staff members, in a loud and dismissive tone, said, “Maile call garera k sodhne?” (What am I even supposed to ask if I call?).

At that point, we had had enough. The food may have been decent, but the staff’s rude behavior and the frustrating service completely ruined the experience. I honestly do not recommend going to Newari Bhoj in Pokhara. There are plenty of other places where you can get good Newari food without having to deal with such...

Newari Bhoj is a restaurant that truly captures the essence of Newari cuisine. I had the pleasure of trying their signature dish, Yomari, which is made from a soft rice flour dough. The dough is skillfully shaped into a cup-like structure and filled with a delectable mixture of Chaku, a sweet brown paste, along with coconut dust and Khuwa. The flavors and textures blend perfectly, creating a delightful treat. I also had the opportunity to savor Sapu Mhicha, a flavorsome dish prepared from buffalo bone marrow. The soft, juicy, and chewy texture of the dish was absolutely delightful. Chhoyela, another specialty, was a heavenly delight for meat lovers. The smoky aroma and tender meat cooked over burning straw made it truly irresistible. To conclude the meal, I indulged in Juju Dhau, a traditional Newari dessert made from yogurt. Its creamy and refreshing taste provided a perfect ending to the feast. The restaurant not only offers a range of authentic Newari dishes but also creates a warm and inviting ambiance. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. If you're seeking an authentic taste of Newari cuisine, Newari Bhoj is a...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Newari Bhoj, and it was truly an authentic and delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance transported me to the heart of Newari culture. The traditional decor, with intricate woodwork and colorful accents, created an inviting atmosphere. The star of the show, of course, was the food. Newari Bhoj's menu offers a wide range of traditional Newari dishes, and each one was a flavor explosion. I couldn't resist ordering the classic Newari platter, which featured mouthwatering selections like momo, sapu micha, and chicken samabaji. The flavors were rich and complex, a perfect blend of spices that left my taste buds dancing. Potato chips was also really good. Will definitely recommend people to visit the spot. ☺️

My first visit to Pokhara and we ended up here for a quick evening bite, and that ended up being a lavish affair of dish testing. Coincidentally it was their first year anniversary and we were welcomed with the traditional Newari platter with their traditional home made brew. We tried almost everything that we could. Some were really good, like the buff choila, jhol momo others were alright. The set up representing a typical Newari home is a brilliant concept. The eating area is just about right. The bar is ok.
