Restaurant Christiani Vino e Cibo — Restaurant in Aalsmeer

Very very disappointed by this restaurant! After reading all the positive reviews, we were very excited to discover what we thought would be a lovely restaurant. We are not from the NL, and I’m not sure if it has anything to do with being foreigners, but we didn’t feel welcome here at all! We had made a reservation, and were placed in a corner in one of the worst spots possible, as we saw everyone else around us being placed outside, next to the beautiful lake-view terrace… but that was not the worst part… we waited for about 45min for our order to be taken! And as we waited, we saw people who arrived AFTER us being served food!! The cheese and ham boards don’t come with bread, our waitress asked if we wanted some, but didn’t tell us we would be charged 4,50€ for it!! How else are we supposed to eat ham and cheese?!? This was handled at the register, after we complained… the pizzas were quite good, the crust was nice, but what kind of Parmesan is on the pizzas?! It’s grated, tasteless and cold… generally, Parmesan on pizza is in shavings, and a bit warm… disappointing… we left before even receiving the entirety of the food we ordered, it took much too long. If you have kids, are a foreigner and don’t want to waste 4hrs of your day/evening here, stay away from this restaurant! Too bad, we really wanted to enjoy...

After very good experience in Christiani Hoofddorp that was second and last time in Christiani Aalsmeer. We were with group of 9 people there for Sunday early dinner and from the begging we were ignored by restaurant staff... After ordering first drinks we were waiting 45 min for waiter but nobody showed up so we just asked if we can finally order food. During dinner nobody showed up at the table to ask if maybe we would like to order some drinks etc, after dinner nobody showed up to ask if we want to coffee, extra drinks, dessert or whatever. Around this time restaurant was empty and only one table was taken so that also doesn't explain really not professional staff behaviour. They were even not nice or friendly, all our group had the feeling we are just ignored and staff is waiting for us the leave. Food was tasting good, only my pizza was cold probably because of waiting time. And cocktails, not recommend at all, how you can serve Pornstar Martini without passion fruit in it? That's only not part of decoration of the cocktail, Pornstar Martini should look and taste this way... And yes, we maybe should ask staff about it and about cold pizza, but it's also not nice thing to do during the dinner, trying to find restaurant staff as they disappeared all the time and we really needed to ask them to show up at...

This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, and I feel sad to leave my first-ever bad review because it was just that ridiculous.

We chose the “trial menu,” assuming it would be a quick and organized tasting experience. It should have been simple to execute for any restaurant with even a basic level of coordination. Instead, we received only 2 out of the 7 dishes — and then nothing. We waited over an hour with no updates, no apology, and no sign that the rest of the food was coming.

We raised our concerns multiple times, but the staff were completely indifferent and running around in chaos, clearly overwhelmed and disorganized. It was frustrating to watch, and even more frustrating to be ignored.

After an hour of waiting with no food and no explanation, we decided to leave. Shockingly, the waiter, who was incredibly rude as it turned out, still charged us 50% of the meal. His justification? That it’s normal to wait that long and that he was being generous by only charging us half. We were served 2 out of 7 dishes. That’s not generosity, that’s insulting…

I have never experienced such poor service, lack of professionalism, or such an unapologetic attitude from restaurant staff. Waiting endlessly, and paying for a meal you never...
