I just finished the Beef Carpaccio Salad, and I actually came here especially for this dish. It’s my first time visiting this restaurant, even though I’ve had it on my wish list for quite a while. The location and view are wonderful, and the service was excellent. I made a quick decision to order the salad (which was slightly different from the menu) along with tap water, and the lovely waitress kindly checked with the chef to make sure I could have it—really appreciated!
As a big fan of beef carpaccio, I’d love to share a few small suggestions to make this dish even better: Pickled onions – I’d recommend leaving them out. The salad already has quite a bit of tanginess from the pickled and fresh cherry tomatoes. The extra sourness from the onions slightly overpowers the delicate harmony of the beef and fresh ingredients. Parmesan cheese – A bit more would be great! It really enhances the beef’s flavor. By the way, I truly appreciate the generous portion of beef fillet slices—very satisfying! Pine nuts – A few tasted a bit bitter, which can happen when they’ve been stored for a long time. You might consider replacing them with broad beans. They’re more stable in flavor, pair beautifully with the tender beef, and add a nice texture. Plus, they’re even more affordable!
Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant and this dish, and I’m looking forward to coming back to try more items from the menu. Thank you for a lovely experience!
ps: this salad is little bit more expensive comparing to other...
Read moreOverall the food was good. I had the tuna duo starter and the tuna steak as a main. Both were good, the tuna was a bit undercooked, but it tasted like it was good quality so then a little undercooked is ok for me.
As a whole the food was a little overpriced though. If I pay around 25 euro for a main course I don't expect the sauce to be served in a cardboard cup.
The real issue for us was my wife's desert. She had a chocolate cake. However something had gone wrong and the batter was savory and tasted like onion and cheese. Obviously something had gone wrong in the kitchen. The waiter however insisted that savory items were stored separately. In the end he did take the desert of the bill, but we did not get an explanation for how a sweet chocolate cake can taste like a cheese union baguette. Also the staff did not seem to take it seriously. That leaves me somewhat concerned on the hygiene in...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Joseph aan de Poel in Aalsmeer, and it was an experience worth sharing! Nestled by the water, the restaurant offers a cozy, charming ambiance that instantly sets a relaxed and inviting mood.
For starters, I tried the garlic mushrooms, which were perfectly sautéed, earthy, and flavorful, with just the right amount of garlic to elevate the taste. I followed it with the risotto, a creamy and comforting dish with a beautiful texture that was both rich and delicately balanced.
The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the restaurant’s overall atmosphere added to the dining experience. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing dinner with friends or a romantic evening, Joseph aan de Poel is an excellent choice in Aalsmeer. I’ll definitely...
