De Chinese Muur — Restaurant in Alphen aan den Rijn

We are people that are not ordering that much chinese food, but when we do, we want some good quality food (as most people want :P), and we found this here.

We have ordered there once, and it is a little bit expensive, but when I mention, the ricetable for 2 people, is enough to eat from 3 days in total. It might be still a bit expensive, but all other food in comparison (so pizzas or spare ribs) are mostly around and about 15 to 20 euros for us as well. so 3 days of quality food for 50 euros is a good deal.

Now this is the second time we have ordered today and what a service. At the moment we are out of their delivery zone (and the first time they weren't) and I did call to them to ask if this was correct. And instead of just saying yes, he explained to me that they were short on delivery drivers (3/5 were sick) BUT would make an exception for this. He told me that it would take a bit longer than normal (so around an hour) instead of the 30 minutes they promised on "thuisbezorgd".

I have written this review before we have received the food just because of the gesture only. We will add a great tip to the agreed...

Het welkom is warm en vriendelijk. Het menu is uitzonderlijk uitgebreid, met naast de meer bekende gerechten veel tipan/tepan-gerechten en combi-gerechten ('sian fan': 4-gerechtjes-op-1-bord). We nemen vooraf de vegetarische mini-loempia's (6 voor €5,50) en zijn verrast doordat iedereen tegelijkertijd 'van het huis' een bord met kroepoek, pangsit goreng, een mini-loempia en een 'driehoekje' met garnituur krijgt. Een van mijn twee gasten bestelt garnalen met verse groenten (€23,50), de ander neemt hetzelfde gerecht als ik, namelijk een vegetarisch gerecht 'gebakken cashewnoten met groenten' aanpast met gebakken tofu erbij (€17,00), ik met witte rijst, hij met nasi (€1,80 extra). We drinken alle drie Chinese thee, die in twee keurige theepotten geserveerd wordt (gratis bijgevuld met heet water) (€2 p.p.). De porties zijn royaal van formaat, zijn imposant gepresenteerd en smaken ook voortreffelijk. Op de achtergrond draait 'echte' Chinese muziek. De service is attent, vriendelijk, voorkomend en snel. De wc's zijn netjes en makkelijk toegankelijk. Pluspunt: op straat is het vrij makkelijk om dichtbij te parkeren. Dit restaurant is zeker de moeite waard om nog eens...

Very bad service. Order was incomplete. Delivery was not on point, they came an hour late. After that I had to contact them in order to let them know our order was incomplete. It was literally the worst customer-service I’ve ever experience in my 25yr lifetime. In the end they delivered the two other dishes but they were cold and disgusting. Hate to say this but it my...
