On my first visit last week, early one weekday morning, staff was very friendly, a bit busy, but I fell into a conversation with a friendly gentleman who turns out to be the next door neighbour.
The croissants, pain au chocolat and pain aux raisins were the best I ever tasted on Dutch soil. The tarte aux fraises looked on a par with the ones we are looking forward to picking up at Larchant's boulangerie, Fontainebleua area. Excellent selection of pain, baguettes etc. Makes me not want to get any similar products from local (super)markets ever again. This one visit could turn out to save me a lot of cash and calories ;).
Although it is a small shop, they sport and interesting cash/teller machine; you drop coins and/or feed it a bill, and it will automatically give you the right amount of change. Guess this really helps with busy weekendmornings. But also a surefire hit with kids and those who never cease to wonder at current daytoday tech, such as yours truly.

Very often I even go back when what I bought is so small, for ex. the chocolate macaron (last time I took 2 macarons: one with a normal size, the other one shrunk somehow), lemon tart, Le Petit bonhomme; when we arrive home and see how small it is, we can’t always go back to complain but it is just not correct. I am not checking what is placed in the bag in the bakery, maybe I should... It also happened a few times that we paid for something which was not even in the bag. Quality is good, no problem about it but all these things added after each other, we...
Read moreBest bakery in the area. The baguettes are great but the cakes and parties are incredible! Always friendly service but the small confined shop space means that the queuing is sometimes a mess and you need to jump in when it's your turn as many people seem to struggle with the concept of queues. Also families seem to enjoy visiting this small shop and you'll often seen parents with 3-4 kids shoving to get inside together when only one person is actually choosing and buying anything...not on the shop, just unfortunate that the space and layout plus the crowd make it chaotic at times. Still worth the wait as the...
