Toko Joyce — Restaurant in Amsterdam

This is a take away restaurant/shop with a few tables for dining in. The menu is Indonesian food and is shown almost in padang style to be ordered. Since I live in Indonesia I can say that it tastes good although some adjustments have been made to accomodate dutch taste buds. The portions are big, and the service friendly. Prices arereasonable. was ok but lacking the real Indonesian taste, when I asked from where in Indonesia the kitchen is and I was told they make up their own taste and the taste surely was bland and expensive €9,- for three spoons of their own made up taste of (indonesian) food. Kwam de kok toevallig tegen op een andere locatie en kwamen aan de praat...

Beide van Indische komaf en in zelfde straat gewoon blijkbaar in een zelfde periode (+/_ 30 jaar geleden) Kon me heel goed Toko Joyce herinneren... kwam er als kind al heel graag met mijn oma... heerlijk eten en geuren zoals ze horen in een Indische keuken...

Hij had toevallig nog een aantal maaltijden in zijn auto en heeft deze met mij gedeeld..

Nu is deze heerlijke maaltijd helemaal naar Papendrecht gekomen en heeft .ij net zo gelukkig gemaakt als 30 jaar geleden.

Dank u voor het heerlijke eten!!!! Als ik ooit weer uit jeugdsentiment in die buurt moet zijn kom ik graag weer een maaltijd...
