If you don't like something specifically, don't say that you don't like it, say you're allergic to it. Then at least you won't get it anyway... You are eating the food they want you to eat, you are paying for the meal at their convenience, as if you're doing them a favour. Myself, mum-in-law and my husband went in the hope that we would have a nice, nearly-local restaurant to often go to, but it was terrible. Wait between table service was long for drinks and although we booked a table and were sat in time for the booking, we waited nearly an hour for the first course. Main course was a shocker. Asking for a medium-well done steak was a no-no according to the chef. Came out bloody and was accompanied by a teaspoon sized blob of sweet potato. When my mother-in-law asked about what cheeses are on the cheese-board, the waitress didn't know and looked very annoyed in having to find out, coming back twice to give half the information. In conclusion: If you like a high price tag on the tiniest amount of food, as if they are trying to be Michelin rated, this is the place to go. The waiting staff looked tired and overworked. The owner/front of house 'gentleman' took quite aggressively to my mother-in-law while we were paying up after when asked if we enjoyed the meal, she responded with a (kind) criticism that he didn't take well, went over the top completely and started shouting at us as we left. Maybe the head guy was having a bad day, but he sealed the deal for us never to back...

Zojuist terug van een etentje bij de Smoezer het restaurant bij ons op de hoek. Een kado van onze zwangere dochter en schoonzoon voor alle klussen die we voor ze gedaan hebben. Als dank. Alles klopt, de persoonlijke benadering is prima en de ambiance is druk maar gezellig. De dames die ons bedienen zijn snel, correct en doen hun best om het ons naar de zin te maken. Onze verwachtingen zijn optimistisch. Wat een deceptie als ik mijn bord met mosselen krijg opgediend. Veel lege schelpen, veel te kleine mosselen en de smaak en textuur is rubberachtig. De smaak van de knoflooksaus verbloemt de slechte kwaliteit van mijn hoofdgerecht. Mijn dochter worstelt met een zwart geblakerde saté van varkenshaas. Mijn schoonzoon krijgt een goed gebakken biefstuk kaal op het bord met een scheut pepersaus. Het bakje groente wat er naast wordt geserveerd is klef en nat en zonder smaak. Mijn vrouw eet een hamburger van ossenhaas ingepakt in een klef wit broodje aangevuld met een smakeloze tomaat. Al met al een grote teleurstelling en de prijs - kwaliteit verhouding is ver te zoeken. Dat alles duurder is geworden kunnen we begrijpen dat dit zorgen met zich meebrengt is aannemelijk. Dat er personeelsgebrek is in de horeca is een feit. What an elegant restaurant. Great dinner menu .. see pics. Service tiptop. Our waitress Nina was attentive and expert in the upsell and cleared used items swiftly as well. We were served simultaneously which is nice too. My steak tender and a little more to medium than rare ..neg was the 'steak knife' was blunt. The sweet-potato my wife has was also delicious. Dessert looked and was scrumptious. A definitely repeatable...
