I used the coffee trip app to find fine coffee in Drenthe, and this popped up. I normally prefer a less austere setting, but it was quite comfortable and the staff are friendly. Everything felt good. I got a pour over (hand brew) and it was awesome. They also have what appear to be delicious bon bons, but I didn’t try them. They looked super fancy, though. The bottom line is that if I lived in town I’d be a regular. They would know my name and not have to ask what I want when I walked through the door, and I would probably send them a Xmas card...

Fijne koffietent met potentie, maar aandacht voor consistentie is wenselijk Deze moderne en sfeervolle koffiezaak is een fijne plek om even tot rust te komen. De koffie is van goede kwaliteit, professioneel bereid en de smaak is – hoewel natuurlijk persoonlijk – echt lekker. Ook de handgemaakte bonbons zijn een mooie toevoeging en zorgen voor een luxe gevoel.

Wat ons bij dit bezoek opviel, was het melkschuim bij de cappuccino en flat white. Dat viel helaas tegen. In plaats van het zijdezachte, ‘silky smooth’ schuim dat je verwacht bij een goed gezette koffie, was het schuim te luchtig en wat grof van structuur. (Niet goed te zien op de foto) Zonde, want dat doet af aan de totaalbeleving. Bij een eerder bezoek – toen de eigenaar zelf de koffie bereidde – was dit namelijk wél perfect in orde.

We komen zeker nog eens terug voor een herkansing, maar zouden aanraden om het personeel goed te trainen op constante kwaliteit. Goede koffie draait immers niet alleen om de bonen, maar juist ook om de finesse van...

If you're on a hunt for a great tasting espresso and specialty coffee in Assen like I was, this is the place! They also have oat milk haha. The owner is super friendly and the cafe itself is cozy and a nice place to work or read a book :) I hope they add some savoury snacks...
