La Place — Restaurant in Barneveld

Great place for a coffee or snack while en route. We had coffee here and some pastries. Beautiful presentations of food, and our apple/nut pie and strawberry cake were both delicious. One thing that is not enjoyable (but something that appears very common in the Netherlands and Germany) is that you have to pay to use the restrooms. The restrooms are called "PiPi" - no kidding. It costs 70 eurocents to go to the PiPi (even if you have to do a PooPoo), but you can get a voucher that will give you a 50 cent discount for your next purchase at a La Place restaurant. Usually La Place is a chain of excellent restaurants in NL with friendly staff except the location in Stroe. The waitress in the cashier was very rude and impolite. I had a voucher and apparently it was for a different dish than what brought to the cashier. She refused to exchange the dish and was very rude. I am a frequent Coustomer of La Place and never experienced this kind of rude attitude from a staff member of La Place. The day manager Marijka was more understanding and trying to explain. I come here very often. Great coffee. I like the friendly staff. I can see they are stretched sometimes, but make the best effort to provide luxury and healthy foods. For a highway pitstop it's great if you are willing to spend. (If not, please go review an American fast food chain of your choice instead of pissing on this deli-cafe) Much better than fast food and only a bit more expensive.
