McDonald's — Restaurant in Barneveld

I never thought a simple trip to McDonald’s would turn into one of the most heartwarming moments I’ve ever witnessed. Located on a quiet corner, this particular McDonald’s exceeded all expectations—not just in service and cleanliness, but in pure, unforgettable charm.

I came in for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised by how clean and welcoming the atmosphere was. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, managing the lunchtime rush with smiles and ease. The food was hot, fresh, and exactly what you’d hope for from a classic McDonald’s menu.

But then something truly magical happened. As I was finishing my meal, a young couple stood up near the counter, and the man suddenly dropped to one knee. Gasps and cheers filled the restaurant as he proposed—right there, in front of everyone! She said yes, and the entire place erupted in applause. Staff members joined in the celebration with huge smiles, and someone even brought over sundaes to toast the occasion. It was spontaneous, sincere, and absolutely beautiful.

In that moment, this McDonald’s became more than just a fast food stop—it became the backdrop to a memory I’ll never forget. There’s something incredibly special about a place where everyday life meets moments of true joy. Whether you’re coming for fries or to fall in love, this McDonald’s delivers with heart.

My big issue with this McDonald's is the drive through. The car can go left and right to make an order, but because the staff is sloppy they sometimes forget there is a car on the other side. Once I stood on the left while they took orders from 5 cars on the right (who were ofc all behind me in the line originally) and eventually I had to get out of my car to tell them they forgot the car waiting on the left side. Now again today, 2 cars passed on the other side while I waited for no reason with an open window even though I specifically chose McDonald's drive through because of extreme heyfever allergies and not wanting to be exposed to outside air. Tip for drivers, avoid the left side of the McDrive....

Food is fine, also better than most McDonald's at not forgetting straws/sauce, does often...

My family and I went to buy a few meals. It took some time for it to come, but that was not a big suprise considering it was dinnertime. However, we had to go up to the counter to ask where our meal was. Luckily we got soon after. Then, we realised that our order was not correctly put together. So we went back to the counter to ask for it to change. They strongly agreed, but for the second time, it took forever for the hamburger to arrive. We had to go up to the counter again.

For all this we got a pass for a free menu at MacDonalds in the future... This we gratefully accepted. Still it was quite annoying. In conclusion, I'd say that the distribution was chaotic, but the staff was very friendly...
