We made a reservation for high tea at noon and it was absolutely delicious! The staff were polite and attentive enough. Everything came at once on an adorable tier platter. All the little sandwiches, tomato soup, and quiche was flavorful and tasty. The sweets were very good. I loved the French macarons the best. I would buy a dozen of those if they sold them. The carousel of tea was good as well. I liked the Women’s Power tea blend the best. The best part is that they have air conditioning inside and it makes it a little cold so you can enjoy your warm tea. They also sell ice cream and cakes that looked delicious but we were so full. Vandaag voor het eerst hier geluncht, en bij binnenkomst viel de mooie inrichting meteen op. Zeker als je bedenkt dat hier eerst een bruin café zat, is de nieuwe sfeer echt goed geslaagd. De bediening was erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. Waar eerdere recensies vermeldden dat het personeel soms traag reageert bij nieuwe bestellingen, hebben wij dat gelukkig anders ervaren. Alles verliep soepel en attent.

Ik had de Italian flatbread besteld, waarvan ik had verwacht dat het op een focaccia zou lijken. Helaas viel dit tegen: het brood was totaal niet luchtig en had eerder de textuur van gewoon brood. Of dit kwam doordat het niet vers was of misschien uit de vriezer kwam, weet ik niet; we kwamen tenslotte vlak na openingstijd, dus versheid zou je dan wel verwachten.

Daarnaast was de burrata veel te koud geserveerd; deze hoort op kamertemperatuur te zijn. Ook de kwaliteit van de burrata zelf stelde teleur: de buitenkant was dik, en bij het aansnijden liep de romige vulling er niet uit zoals het hoort.

Voor 15 euro mag je hier toch best wel iets...
