Visited Restaurant bij C last weekend and had a terrible experience. It was beautiful weather so we took a seat outside on the terrace. Then we were told that eating outside was not possible which we found strange since it was such beautiful weather, sun was shining and it was around 15 degrees. Since we couldn’t order anything from the regular menu outside we received the “snack” menu which was available outside, that we found particularly strange. When we were ready to order we waited around 10 minutes but still no server arrived, I myself stepped inside to make an order and was than told by, I think, the restaurant manager, this gentleman was wearing a suit, that he would be outside in a minute to take our order. 10 minutes passed and still no server arrived. I eventually stepped inside again to order.

Food was decent. The eel was really good and tasteful but it says it comes with Brioche bread, which are just 2 really thin slices of toast. I found it quite expensive for €17. We also ordered the squid which came in a small cone, it had a small slice of lemon with it but everything was just covered in sauce, so it was real messy to eat. The baguette and the dried charcuterie were very good, and the coffee as well.

Overall we didn’t have a good experience here at all and I was also a bit ashamed since I brought a long time friend here to have a nice and decent lunch, which it was not. At the end my friend went to pay and at no point at all were we asked about our experience so we couldn’t give the feedback directly to the staff, so therefore I will leave it here.

Overall not the best experience, the food was decent but really overpriced. The biggest disappointment was the service...

Easy parking at Bij de C. There is a large parking lot right in front of the restaurant. De restaurant offers a modern interior and a large sunny terrace overlooking the dunes. Seats are good and there is enough space between tables to enjoy a private dinner and still be in a busy room with all the buzz. The food was nice. Occasionally a bit salty to my taste but not to much, it still tasted great. The way they presented the dishes is also nice. Especially fun was the “bucket of ice” which came in a paint can with dry ice. Really cool! They have an extensive wine list with a couple of wines you can order per glass. Lots to choose from! Food, drinks and location were all good! The only letdown for us was the service. We did not really get a proper explanation of the concept. It is supposed to be sharing so we hinted on the waiter just putting his suggestions on the table because our party did not have any restrictions. That was a bit much to ask so we made our own choices from the menu. Sometimes details matter: we ordered eel. So you get a whole eel with skin on. If you take the skin of and get it of the bone you have very oily hands and there is no towel or something. Also service was slow. We were at the table for an out before the first bites arrived and we had to ask at least three times for our ordered drinks/bottles of wine to get to the table. Staff was friendly but I think they were a bit stressed and understaffed. This really affected our experience and might be the occasional one off… Difficulty is that there are many great restaurant around where I had a 4/5 star experience on all items. Might give it...

Whahahah, wat een hilarische beleving; lieve mensen, jullie zitten op een prachtige locatie, jullie restaurantje is beeldig, de koffie was heerlijk, maar wat een verwaande kwast zeg, de dame van de bediening die ons ontvangen heeft. Toen we vrijdagmiddag 17-11-2023 rond 12 uur bij jullie binnenkwamen, was ze duidelijk in 'shock': 4 mannen die 'underdressed' zomaar even de toko kwamen binnenvallen. Als ze een peuk in d'r mond had, zou die er spontaan uitvallen. Alsof we de Flodders in Zonnedael waren.

We kwamen net van een wandeling in Caprera. Vanwege de verwachte weersomstandigheden had ik idd niet m'n beste kloffie aangetrokken, maar de koffie kan ik heus wel betalen, hoor. We kregen een plekje toegewezen zo dicht mogelijk bij de uitgang en toen we onze consumptie hadden gebruikt, werden we zsm 'weggebonjourd' met de smoes dat de tafel gereserveerd zou zijn. Maak dat de kat wijs; er waren tientallen lege tafels, waarvan slechts 3 ingenomen waren door andere costumers. Maar ik vind het zo hilarisch, dat ik jullie toch 5 sterren geef. Wat een karikatuur zeg! Dit is een anekdote die ik nog vaak ga doorvertellen aan m'n vrienden.

Luister, ik ben opgegroeid als een arme jongen in een achterstandsbuurtje. Inmiddels ben ik rijk en kan ik met gemak een dubbele kaviaar bij jullie komen bestellen met een toetje erbij. Dus als ik behandeld wordt alsof ik een 1 of ander paupertje ben, dan voel ik me totaal niet beledigd, hoor. Ik beschouw dat juist een groot compliment. Dit wandelgroepje waar ik mee was is vanuit het Leger des Heils, een organisatie die zich inzet voor mensen die het minder goed hebben. Ik ben er trots op dat ik daar een onderdeel van ben. Ik vond het bezoekje aan jullie heel inspirerend. Wellicht dat ik in een creatieve bui nog eens iets bedenk om bekrompen gasten als jullie op een grappige manier te exposen. Dit was te hilarisch om me over op te winden. Dit zou de buitenwereld moeten weten, want het is gewoon te lachwekkend voor woorden. Echt stof voor een comedyserie. Kakkers te kakken zetten! Gegarandeerd succes! Wordt echt een kijkcijferkanon! Ik vond het zo zielig, dat ik zelfs ergens medelijden voel. Blij dat ik geen 'kakkerstatus' hoog te houden heb.

PS; dat blonde grietje met de tatoes die ons keurig netjes de deur wees leek mij best ok, hoor. Ze kwam op mij wat minder bekakt over, maar volgens mij zwichtte ze voor de druk van haar bruinharige collega. Maar goed, dat is speculatief; ik kan het verkeerd hebben gezien. Al met al, no hard feelings. Vijf sterren, jongens. Wat een joke! Jullie hebben wel gevoel voor humor, mensen. Mijn dag kon niet meer stuk. Whahahahah....... Succes met de volgende 'paupers'!
