We vacationed in Curaçao from NYC for the first time this past week and Hofi Cas Cora was as much of a highlight as the warm clean waters of the Caribbean waters there. If it hadn't been the last day of our trip when we ate there, we would have returned every day thereafter. The restaurant/farm was founded by an inspired couple who clearly care deeply about the environment and their local community. In their bio, they share how they would not have made it if not for the help of their more experienced farming neighbors, who taught them regenerative practices. They have a diverse staff who seemed relaxed and well treated (unlike the staff at our hotel!) and with whom they worked side-by side. The menu was filled with delectable, healthy, seasonal and colorful dishes and beverages. I had a gorgeous basil pesto quiche and a delicious beet juice; my daughter had pumpkin waffles with cinnamon maple syrup, and my son had chicken burrito with fresh salsa. The restaurant is on the property of the farm that also has a store and a family of well-treated rescue animals that help on the farm -- manure from the donkeys, goats and pigs for the soil; and they act as "waste managers" by eating all the overgrown veggies and food scraps of the restaurant. Eating at their restaurant made us feel as happy, fulfilled and relaxed as we felt when we were floating...
Read moreThe food here is top-notch, especially if you grab a seat outside to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The service is friendly, and there's plenty of parking available. While the meat skewers were a bit overcooked, they still packed flavor. Don't miss out on their refreshing fresh fruit drinks. After dinner, we took a stroll around the Hofi (=farm), where they source all their fresh ingredients. It's a nice place, though a bit messy - unfortunately a common sight on this beautiful island of Curaçao. Despite the minor flaws, I'll definitely be returning to Hofi Cas Cora. (By the way, don't forget to check out their amazing sandwiches at the...
Read moreIt was my friend's birthday week and we decided that Hofi Cas Cora made the list because of their farm to table concept. We easily made a reservation the same day actually so we headed to the beach early and then went for a late brunch. The outdoor setting was relaxing and tranquil. The food was super fresh and delicious! I had the huevos ranchero with a rosemary lemonade (it is unsweetened but obviously you can add sugar if that's what you're into). My meal was super yummy. My only complaint if you want to call it that is the flies. I felt like I was competing with them to get to my food first lol. The staff knows so they bring these small whirling things that are automatic fly swatters. ...
