Landhuis Daniel restaurant — Restaurant in Curaçao

It’s a very unique restaurant wich has it’s own hemingway like specialty. The landhuis daniel is located just off the main road between willemstad and westpunt. Pretty easy to find. The restaurant is situated in the main building of an old plantation and most of the time, there is a grumpy old guy sitting at the table on the left hand site of the restaurant. DO NOT SIT AT THIS TABLE! Because it his to claim. He is an artist, who is having his own exhibition inside the main building and is apparently working on new paintings at this special table - of course always with a glass of wine. Landhuis Daniel, situated somewhat away from Willemstad, in the direction of Westpunt is a pleasant non-frilly, old style country house one can just saunter in and have quite an enjoyable and tasty meal, cooked and served by a competent and attentive staff in a pleasant country ambiance. While waiting for one's order to come through, one can have a little stroll around the property, while checking out the greenhouse (where some of the restaurant's vegetables are derived from), the swimming pool and have your kids build up their appetite by jumping around on a trampoline... To top it all off, the price/quality ratio is also fair to boot. All in all, worth taking...

I’ve been coming to Curaçao for 15 years and just now discovered breakfast at Landhuis Daniel. What a gem! The Vietnamese iced coffee is hands down the best I’ve had on the island, and the dulce de leche French toast is something I’ll be dreaming about. They serve mint tea with fresh-picked leaves from the garden—simple and perfect. We loved it so much we came back twice in one week, and honestly could have had that incredible espresso iced coffee every day. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is warm and welcoming, and there’s even an art gallery just off the patio with beautiful pieces for sale. Highly recommend...
