Arrived and had to wait 5 minutes for the cashier to find the time to take my order as she and her colleague were busy chatting away. I ordered a "kip cheeseburger", she looked back at her colleague continuing their conversation. She asked me "what size fries". I said small. She then started talking again without putting anything on the computer. She turned back to me and asked "what kind of burger?" I repeated again "the kip cheeseburger, zonder groente". She asked "the cheese zonder sla en ui?" I said, yes. She finally enters my order and turns away, taking with her colleague. I ask to add a drink to the order since I had to wait a bit for it to all cook. I get my order and ask for "zout en een tasje alsjeblieft." She asked me again what I wanted, I repeated 2 more times. She tossed a salt packet on the counter. I said "nog een zout, alsjeblieft en een tasje." She stops talking with her colleague and says "oh, nog een zout and you want a bag?" I said yes. She tosses another salt on the counter and places a bag and walks away towards her colleague. I salted my fries and put them in the bag. Then, I opened the burger wrapper as it looked a bit flatter than usual. It was not the fried kip cheeseburger. I don't know what kind of patty it was, probably the fake meat one. I call out for her to return and she's visibly annoyed that I'm interrupting her conversation. I said I want a kip burger, this is not a chicken patty. She says I asked for a cheese burger and this is what it is. I said, I told you twice a kip cheeseburger. Now she's more upset. I ask if there's someone who speaks English in the back (since there appear to be 4 extra employees chatting away in the kitchen in addition to the 2 up front). She tells me "I spreek the Engels." (Clearly, not.) We go back and forth with me asking if I can have a kip patty until some other girl comes up and says the standard "het is niet mogelijk". A man behind me who was probably tired of waiting said he would buy my burger. He paid them for it and took it with him and a few of the fries I had. So then, the taller girl grabs a kip burger from the heating window and slaps it on the counter in front of me. I said "maar zonder groente". She rolls her eyes and says "nou ja, je moet 5 minuten wachten dan." I said okay. At this point, another girl comes up to see the drama and I'm fed up so I said "nevermind, just refund me for the burger since the man bought it." Then the girls are mad, whatever. I wanted to be done with them and their attitude. They tried to tell me they can't refund. I said they could since the man bought my burger and they haven't started on my kip. An additional girl comes up to ask what I want and I said a refund. Then she says I can't get a refund via card and walks off before I can even respond. The original talkative girl 'translates' that I can only get refund via contant. I said that's fine just give me my money so I can be done with y'all. The other girl has to come back and give consent or something and they hand me the coins. I ask for the receipt and left.
I get it that the service here isn't exactly customer focused, but as it was completely empty and you had ONE person in front of you, simply pause your damn conversation and take my order and then you can continue chatting away. I'm pretty sure your employee contract includes taking orders and cooking, you know, more things besides talking with friends. Irrespective of the language barrier, paying attention could've also...
Read moreToday, while waiting for the train, my sister and I stopped for a snack. I tell much about the atmosphere because it's a fast food place and it's located at the station, so you don't have to expect luxury. We were pleasantly surprised that the oil was fresh, there was enough sauce and it was very tasty. for a quick snack, I highly recommend it, although I read a lot of very negative comments about this place, our visit was...
Read moreBurger from the vending machine (that doesn't give change btw) was hard as a rock and lettuce completely dry and brown, must have been there the whole day already. Requested a refund, but that was 'not possible'. The burger clearly wasn't edible tho and it was the last one, so refund would have been the only proper thing to do.
Things can happen, but how you deal with them afterwards matters, and this just felt...
