Strandbad Paviljoen Edam — Restaurant in Edam-Volendam

You can not imagine what a terrible place it is! We ordered 2 chicken tikka massala and some other things. You can see the tikka massala in the pictures. It’s not that. But that was the smallest problem. When I told to the waiter, it’s not that food what I ordered, he told us, “just a minute, I will come back”. A few minutes later, an older guy and a lady came to our table and their were very very aggressive. I realy didn’t understand what’s happening here, It was very crazy, they were as two crazy zombie from a moovie. When I could tell anything (it was few minutes) I ask them what theirs problem. They told me, theirs colleague told them, we didn’t want to pay… when I told them It didn’t happend, I told only the waiter that it’s not tikka massala, they told with the same behavior when they arrived, it’s tikka massala and let’s pay… a litle bit later the waiter admitted, that we realy didn’t tell, we won’t want to pay. But no apologize from the two aggressive employes. So I don’t suggest this place, I think it’s understandable.

After the reply: They are liars as well. No offer to choose something else, no apologize, only the agressiveness. It’s unacceptable not only if I’m a guest, but between people generaly. In a country like Netherland, where most of the people are very normal and respect each other. In this place it’s not right. And we can start to talk about what is tikka massala and they are right, you can find some differences between countries, but it was like a terrible gyros, anybody can see it. Nothing to do with tikka massala. So they can call a bone for steak and they can tell it’s the steak here but...

We were here last year and decided to go there for lunch today. The weather was great and we got a got on their back terrace which was less windy than the front. We ended up having an extended lunch. I had a Panini Tuna Melt and EL had a Panini with ham, cheese and vegetables. We also shared a big serving of Nacho Cheese.

For dessert I had an Oreo Cheese cake which isn't on their menu !!! So keep that in mind 😁😁😁 EL had a nice Ice cream Coup with other stuff mixed in. All in all we were both quite full. The price for all that was not crazy expensive, so definitely a place to visit if you are in the area. The location is quite good, it banks onto the Ijsselmere and behind it is a pretty good camping location. It's not very far from where we live, so I think we will be visiting alot for...

The location is amazing, situated between the sea and a canal. Lots of birds. the staff were very friendly and efficient. restaurant was clean.

Food was tasteless. we ordered the onion soup, which had a very poor flavor, hardly any cheese on top, and the bread served with it had no flavor, even after spreading butter on it.

The caprese panini was not tasty. The pesto bread was also flavorless that it was served on. Served with mayonnaise, which is an odd pairing and didn't compliment the flavor. The French fries were ok. The chai tea was a little bit of syrup in the glass with foam. Didn't even fill the glass.
