Trattoria Il Salotto — Restaurant in Eindhoven

Me and my girlfriend went on a Thursday evening at 7PM (they close at 10PM). It looked like very nice place, too bad we didn't get to try anything, as after 10 minutes of waiting at a table, a waitress approached us and asked us if we had a reservation (just to clarify, the table itself was not reserved and was available), and after stating that we did not, she stated that they were out of capacity and that they could not serve us, and asked us to leave. We were completely willing to wait a bit longer, but we were not given the option, so we just had to leave.

Never ever had I been treated like that before anywhere else and it was kind of a humiliating experience. Too bad, as we were really looking forward to try out the place, but after this,...

This is a nice place, with a warm atmosphere. The menu has pizza, pasta and a few choices in meat, fish and vegetarian. The service is excellent.

The food was quite tasty, but to be honest, except for a few small surprises, I didn't think it was very special. I included a picture of my main course (beef with pepper sauce) to illustrate this point. The house wine is nice. The panna cotta dessert is lovely.

All in all, we had a nice meal, but I thought it was a bit on the expensive side. The borrelplank we had as a starter was €25 for 2p, not sure if it was worth that much. Then 2 main courses, 4 glasses of wine, 1 dessert, 1 coffee and 1 tea, made a total of € 107.

It was our mistake to don't check the menu before the reservation, didn't expect that prices from trattoria. Spaghetti for 18-22 Eur I think is too much, the portions also not that big for that price, especially taking into the account that restaurant is far away from the centrum. Also 6.75 for the 0.75 water bottle.. We enjoyed the atmosphere inside the restaurant, but we were sitting outside and there were some other place with loud music(from another side of the road, wow) which didn't allow to relax and it was also not easy to...
