This is not a skatepark or creative venue anymore. It used to be created by people from the community of skateboarding, and people within creative communities in music and art. Instead of including these people the council decided to allow for the gentrification of a truly grate place. They placed above all a commercial mentality. The prices have gone up so substantially that the people who used to come here won’t have the benefit of their local place for community and engagement; even worse some kids who need accessible sports won’t have it anymore. Half of the park is now sacrificed for a foam pit and bmx trial that is unskateable. Besides that this half of the park was almost empty for the entire day while the bmxers seem to prefer the skateable part of the park aswel resulting in a overcrowded and unpleasant experience.
This experience in combination with an INCREASED entrance fee led me to write up...
