The FoodClub — Restaurant in Enschede

It's a nice place, when you enter you get a little bit of a "Havana" club idea. Bright colours and a relaxed casual atmosphere.

You will be guided to your table, it was not that really busy so we got the option to choose from multiple tables so that was a nice surprise. They ask of you know the concept and eaten there before.

You have to order via your table tablet. You can choose 2 dishes in one round. So we could choose 4 dishes in total per round.

The food is really good, they have various of menus; sushi, street food, pastas and a middle eastern vibe (Falafel, Tagin, etc.). You also have some special sushis but these are not free, you have to pay for those sushi specials. The drinks are also paid for, these are not free.

The overall dishes are good, they describe it very well and have also an food allergic table to see the contents (to see of you have an allergic to something).

My favorite is still the "Brooklyn Wings", these are checking wings that are slow cooked and swim in honey. I also like the feta cheese with honey slow baked in the oven. But all the dishes are great.

I do not know how long you can sit because we forget about the time and nobody told us that out time had pass by or something so we sat there for 2,5 hours.

The desserts are also paid, there are some good choices and I chose for the "Rafaello Tiramisu". This was really an heavy dessert and really "heavy".

The staff is great, they are kind and everything is good organized and the atmosphere is relaxe/casual. It was a bit rowdy but that normal when it is a busy place.

The prices are good, we were with 2 persons and I paid €115,00 for diner 5 drinks and 2 desserts.

Zeer teleurstellende ervaring ronduit slecht

Mijn bezoek aan dit restaurant was één grote teleurstelling. Het concept klinkt leuk: een all-you-can-eat-restaurant waar je kleine gerechtjes kunt bestellen uit verschillende wereldkeukens. In de praktijk is het echter een rommeltje van slecht uitgevoerde gerechten, vlakke smaken en ronduit goedkope kwaliteit, terwijl je er juist een hoge prijs voor betaalt.

Ze hebben geprobeerd om elk land een plekje te geven, ook in het interieur. Elke ruimte is zogenaamd geïnspireerd op een andere cultuur. Maar ook dat is slecht gedaan: alles ziet eruit als namaak, van de plastic planten tot decoratie die rechtstreeks uit een budgetwinkel lijkt te komen. Je voelt gewoon dat het allemaal goedkoop is en toch rekenen ze hoge prijzen.

En dan het eten… Werkelijk alles wat we bestelden was vies. De zogenaamde Mexicaanse taco? In werkelijkheid gewoon een Turkse pizza met wat groenten erin gegooid. Totaal geen Mexicaanse smaak of identiteit. De sushi met “dubbele tonijn” was een vreemde, teleurstellende ervaring. Binnenin zat een beetje tonijn, maar bovenop lag een doorzichtig plakje nepvis: allemaal exact dezelfde grootte en dikte, en kleurloos, niets van de dieprode kleur die verse tonijn hoort te hebben. Het leek rechtstreeks uit een plastic verpakking te komen. En alsof dat nog niet genoeg was: er zaten ook nog glitters bovenop. Geen saus, geen garnering maar glitters.

De beef-noedelsoep was ronduit smerig. De noedels waren volledig overkookt, het vlees smakeloos, en de bouillon had totaal geen smaak, alsof je lauw water met een drupje iets at. Dit moest een Thaise soep voorstellen, maar de smaken kwamen daar op geen enkele manier bij in de buurt.

Wat het extra pijnlijk maakt: we hadden ook nog twee extra te betalen gerechten besteld. De tonijn sashimi was echt niet lekker. Er lagen vijf plakjes tonijn met in het midden een enorme berg verschillende soorten sla, iets wat je erbij hoort te eten, maar het paste totaal niet bij de smaak van de tonijn. Het haalde de hele beleving onderuit en voelde alsof ze zomaar wat bij elkaar hadden gegooid.

De truffel-nigiri was nog enigszins oké, maar zeker niet bijzonder. En voor een gerecht waar je extra voor betaalt, verwacht je gewoon meer.

Het all-you-can-eat-concept nodigt uit om lekker veel en gevarieerd te proberen. Maar van de gerechtjes die we hebben geproefd, waren er misschien twee ‘oké’. De rest was stuk voor stuk vies, slecht op smaak gebracht en slordig samengesteld. Geen enkele keuken werd goed vertegenwoordigd, alles voelde goedkoop, snel en zonder enige aandacht voor kwaliteit.

De muziek was niet mijn smaak, maar goed – dat is persoonlijk. Het decor oogde rommelig en goedkoop. Denk aan plastic planten die rechtstreeks van de Action lijken te komen. Je merkt aan alles dat ze op kosten bezuinigen, maar wel de hoofdprijs rekenen.

Voor wat je hier betaalt, krijg je absoluut geen kwaliteit terug. Ik heb zelden zó slecht gegeten. Dit restaurant is het geld niet waard, en eerlijk gezegd zouden ze zich diep moeten schamen voor wat ze hier...

I've finally had the chance to visit the place and was welcomed by a nice vibe from the interior design. It may look messy and there was also a random carpet at the door but overall, a pretty nice design. The waiters/waitresses were all very nice and were quick to pick up empty plates. There was quite a variation of food and most of the portions were quite small, which is a good thing because then you can try more different dishes. Some dishes had a quite big portion, so I would recommend splitting them if you don't want to get full by just one plate (for example the corndogs or cheese bomb). Flavor wise, the dishes were okay and again, some dishes were very salty and some less. The drinks and desserts are exclusive, and some desserts were not available. €40 euros for the all you can eat (excl. Drinks and desserts) is quite expensive but you can sit here with...
