AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! On Christmas eve we were looking for a wok restaurant and this one came up with a decent rating on Google. Maybe we caught them slipping on an off-day but this was abysmal. The service was extremely awkward. First the whole restaurant was empty and once the Christmas music cd finished you could hear a pin drop. Even your whispers would echo which was really awkward because you share the space with the awkward waiter. The waiter who was very young seemed to be speaking to humans for the first time. He must have been very nervous by the way he asked us questions and kept forgetting things or lingering awkwardly in silence for too long next to our table. The sushi was ok but way overpriced. It was of a quality I could have made at home. I had a plate of "tempura mix" that would be considered a crime in Japan. It was improperly deepfried trash. This was batter for kibbeling, not tempura. No panko, no fresh ingredients and at too low a temperature because the whole thing was soggy with oil. That's what happens when you throw all of it in at once (as could be seen by the fact all of it was stuck together in one block of greasy oil-soaked batter). When you overcrowd a fryer the temperature drops too much and the oil soaks into the batter giving a rancid experience to the customer. The sauce that came with the tempura (and the shrimp loempia's) was just sweet chilli from a store bought bottle, which gives a good impression of how little they care about it. The "wok" dishes were probably not made in a wok at all and were bland to the point you could make better at home. The waiter asked what side dish we would like with our main dish, giving the impression it came for free, but this was a deception as you still pay for it. Fried Noodles as a side dish where cut small which was bizarre, and I don't think they ever touched a pan. The white rice side dish was literally just that, but you pay 5 bucks for it nonetheless. This ruined my entire evening on Christmas eve (an important night for me...
Read morePlace looks good. We were helped by a waitress that is very knowledgeable. The owner of the place is very polite and helpful. We ordered a mystery meal. It were small dishes of Chinese or Japanese influence. Some of the dishes were decorated very stylish, like writing on the plate. Every Small dish was so different of the previous one. Ingredients ranged from sea to land and every dish was an taste explosion. One of my friends said that the Wasabi is actually the best type we could be served. He said he knew so because you felt it in your noise as you ate wasabi only. Indeed, I remember that other restaurants had served wasabi that was weak. The dishes keep coming one after another and we had chance to talk with each other. We lost count of how many dishes arrived at our table. After asking, the Waitress said the dishes will keep coming until we say we are satisfied and full. There was no time limit mentioned. Every dish was different. Not one was the same as the previous. I ate sushi types I never ate before. The Beef was prepared very tender and tasty. I like this place. It gives you a feeling of rest and no rushing. Very...
Read moreThe non-sushi food was alright. Grilled a bit too long/hard. Maybe next time wok the chicken rather than grill it? Just a thought. The teriyaki/soy salmon is delicious, though. Was impressed. The chili whitefish was more breading than fish, sadly.
Delivery lady is very friendly, though delivery can take up to 2-3 hours due. She seems to be the only delivery person they have. Something to keep in mind
They also double as Incheon Korean Fried Chicken, a delivery app-only service that restaurants can sign up for. My experience with that was.. well, not great. 6 tough chewy chicken chunks, barely any sauce on them. Waffle fries were good, though.
They also double as Chifuri, a chinese food delivery app-only service that restaurants can sign up for. I haven't ordered from there yet.
I'll happily order the salmon again...
