Wonderful little restaurant hidden away in a small village. Once you park your car in the ample parking space right outside and walk into the charming building you're greeted by extremely friendly staff and a comfortable interior. We sat at a high table near the entrance with 2 people. The menu was great, focused enough to not be ridiculously big, yet enough variety to keep you interested and notably a lot of vegetarian options and not just the standard ones either. We had the pork belly (very succulent!) and scallops (perfectly cooked), we followed that on with the biefstuk and the entrecote. The biefstuk was cooked perfectly, the entrecote was slightly over cooked which I suspect was due to the meat being fairly thin. The truffle sauce was absolutely fantastic. We shared a salted caramel cheesecake (which was mind blowing). Special mention of the coffee, proper coffee! Overall a very good meal. A real highlight of the evening was the service and the staff, very professional yet friendly and up for a chat. The overall atmosphere was comfortable, relaxed and relaxing. Total cost was reasonable and a very good balance of price quality.
We will 100% be back again, I can't wait to see what the menu will be like in the summer!
p.s. quick note, we booked a lower table, but we got a call back that same evening informing us it may end up being a high table. Incredibly professional and a very good way of making sure people are comfortable with this! I really appreciated that little touch. (and the high tables are very...
Read moreDue to the Carnival celebrations, this was the only restaurant open in the neighbourhood of Ottersum. I was however delighted to discover that the food was excellent and a nice added touch was that on the menu there was also a recommendation for which beer, as well as wine, to have with the various dishes. I had the Coquilles to start, followed by Ravioli and then the Cheese Cake as dessert. All 3 dishes were delicious. The waitress was helpful and friendly and a nice touch was the chef also came after my main course out to ask if I was...
Read moreWe had a very delicious dinner at Bij Koos. You could taste the love put in to cooking the dishes and we thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and the friendly staff. We were particularly impressed by the waitress who managed to serve about 50 people and manage the bar at the same time. That caused of course significant delays, and we had to be a bit more patient to get our food. But the way the waitress handled it with such happiness and delight was...
