Zorba De Griek — Restaurant in Gooise Meren

Me and my fiancée visited for her birthday. I have to say it was one of the nicest places we have visited for food ever. They do not skimp on portion sizes so be aware if you want to eat it all.

We ordered the Zorba Schotel which is a special dish for two containing several different meats. Whilst it is an expensive dish coming it at around €55, it is very much worth it.

The whole evening with a shared starter, two drinks each, the main, a desert each, an Irish coffee and mint tea came in at €107. With a 10% gratuity plus a bit we rounded it off at €120.

We will be visiting again.

The only thing i would say is that i think communication between the waiting staff needs to be a little better as we had three different ladies come to us as the start asking what drinks we wanted when we were the only people in at the time due to an early booking. I won't mark them down for it though because it's better to have too much service than none at all.

Wonderful restaurant with amazing food, amazing service, and amazing atmosphere. We weren't sure what to do when we arrived. There was no one greeting at the door to seat you. I think it was one of ghe owners noticed us looking confused and immediately brought us to someone who could help and had us seated. Almost all the staff spoke English which was very helpful. Waitresses are careless and dont pay attention to clients ordering. It doesnt matter if you are allergic and specify it several times, they dont care.

2 hour waiting time just for them to bring you the water you ordered.

Pay attention when you try to pay the check.

They "mistakenly" tried to overcharge me 30 euros extra and, after asking about it, they fixed it by trying to overcharge me 20 more instead. Had to fight them twice to pay the correct amount for the food I actually...
