Smook Grill — Restaurant in Hoeksche Waard

Their basic cooking skills are good but they under-estimate the culinair intelligence of the customer. Waiter sells meat at the table from the Dutch Limosine or Black Angus from Spain, while on the menu it is stated thet the meat is from Argentina and Uruguay. When I queried it they were extremely uncomfortable to answer. Us Africans know our meat...don't lie to us! My DUTCH LIMOSINE RIB-EYE was well prepared but tasteless and not tender! The gamba's was of good quality, juicy, soft and well prepared but once again sold with a sause which did not match the expected chimchirri sause where no lemon, garlick, chillies were to be found between the few strands of wilted snotty corriander. They are on the right track, but still far from home! I hope they will take up my review and do something positive with it because there charcoal fire is a rare find in the Netherlands. Good news to vegans though: the cream spinache and pff...

They are expensive! basic tournedos kost 200gr 28 eu. 300gr 34 eur. than you need to order side dish, salad 4,50, fries 4,50. and saus 2,50

Total: One meal is allmost 45 euro!!

Second of all, really bad, you are not allowed to share a maincourse, if you order a 500gr (at 46 eur) and want to share it with your partner is not allowed. they will not serve you!! really bad!! why? They give you a weak excuse when they cut down meat they have left overs.... but it is not written on the menu that it is not allowed!

They want to let you order two seperate tournedos of 28 of 34 eur to earn more money, really bad commercial thought!

Onze ervaring was helaas niet zo goed om meerdere redenen, zo hebben wij als eerste al erg lang moeten wachten op onze drankjes en op een kaart terwijl wij op dat moment de enigste tafel in de zaak waren. Wij hebben heel de avond op de tocht gezeten en meerdere malen aangegeven, echter werd hier niks mee gedaan. Toen wij vroegen of wij eventueel naar een andere tafel gewisseld konden worden werd dat geweigerd en dat terwijl die tafel de rest van de avond leeg is gebleven. Ons voorgerecht werd uitgeserveerd aan een andere tafel, toen het personeelslid daar achter kwam wou die hetzelfde voorgerecht weer bij ons uitserveren. Het eten was lekker maar de hamburgers vervullen meer als lunch dan als diner, ook word er niet gevraagd of je je vlees rare/medium/well done wilt ook iets om rekening mee te houden. Ook is het helemaal geen schande als je moet bijbetalen voor patat echter vind ik dan niet dat je met zo weinig patat aan kan komen De desserts waren ze vergeten en uiteindelijk zat er iemand alleen zijn dessert te eten 20 min later

Bij het afrekenen verschuldigde een personeelslid zichzelf al voor de rommelige avond echter is er verder geen oplossing...
