What a wonderful place to have dinner or a drink. Went here twice, once for a quick coffee on a whim and then had to come back for dinner. The coffee was excellent and came with a shot glass of cream and coffee liqueur. The tarts were excellent. For dinner we were sat immediately and although service was a little slow (I can forgive them as it was FULL) the food was excellent. The beef stew I had was really deep in flavour and the schnitzel was really crispy and garlicky. The real winner here is you can order curly fries. Also there is a massive choice of beers.

Excellent presentation of the ordered food, after the maybe not to experienced girl had to ask a few times her colleague, for answering the possibilities of the vegetarian options for my family. (Non vegetarian) Italian bread, wild duck.

Overduidelijk geen aanrader. De spa rood kwam er een vet glas, de koffie speciaal was veel te vol met het gevolg een vies glas wat niet aan te pakken was. Tijdens het eten van de slagroom kwamen we schimmel tegen op de bijgevoegde stroopwafel waarop wij onze koffie niet meer hoefden. Zoals te begrijpen waren wij niet voornemens deze koffie te betalen. In plaats van begrip ging het personeel een discussie aan en de conclusie was dat ze het er niet mee eens waren. Let op, ze zijn niet eens komen kijken naar de koffie. We hebben de genuttigde drankjes afgerekend waarop mijn partner en 3 jarige bij het goedendag zeggen niet eens een gedag terug kregen. Al met al een teleurstellende ervaring. Fotos volgen

superb cafe! - The whole town of Horst is so well looked after, it was a real hidden gem. We found it when out cycling from a nearby centre parcs and it was so good my wife and i returned there on the return leg of an alpine motorcycle tour. The Grandcafe has been well invested in and is fantastic. The bar inside is modern and smart and the toilets are clean and modern (which i think says a lot these days!). Lunchen in een gezellige veranda. Helaas een beetje tochtig tot de open deuren gesloten werden. Wij hadden een tosti hawaii en een tosti pittig. Beide waren erg lekker en de prijs was prima. Vriendelijke bediening. Het bovenstaande schreef ik ca 1 jaar geleden. Ben nog enige keren geweest voor koffie op het terras. Vandaag 21 juli 2019 was het echt heel slecht. Vrije tafeltjes op het terras bleken gereserveerd te zijn? Bleek er een tijdstip aan te zitten van 2 uur later! Belachelijk. Kregen een tafeltje toegewezen met de rommel van de voorgaande gasten nog op het tafeltje. De bestelling werd opgenomen en er werd niets afgeruimd. De bestelling werd in etappes gebracht en de restanten die op tafel stonden werden op een ander tafeltje gezet. Ons vieze plakkerige tafeltje werd niet schoongemaakt. Dit alles was slecht, heel slecht. De vier sterren ik 1 jaar geleden nog gaf worden er nu 2. Er moet echt wat aan de opleiding en toezicht gedaan worden. Zo jammer voor zo een...
