Came here for dinner with the family after having reserved a table for 7.

Upon arrival we got the option to eat inside or outside and we chose outside.

We ordered the following food items: Mixed grill Duo van kalf & rund Carpaccio & Vis trio Kip salade en kip burger Varken Schnitzel met champion saus Spareribs (GF) Gebakken aardappelen as a side.

They have an extended beverage menu for alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. I would recommend some juice options since they have some unsweetened bottled juices available.

After ordering the entre took around 15min to come out and the main about 20min after that. I asked for a GF option whilst making a reservation by phone and they said that wasn't an issue at all.

When we ordered the spareribs we clarified the allergies and food restrictions, they acknowledged them, and still served a GF person fries. (That is fried in the same oil as products that contain gluten) We mentioned that and the lady took that plate back to change it.

From the mixed grill the spareribs arrived cold and the chicken very dry. The other two pieces of meat were baked as requested. Secondly: The chips of the GF that were changed arrived semi cold too.

The waitresses were kind but looked like they were struggling to keep up. Before they served the mains we had to request them to clear the empty glasses and bottles since the outside tables aren't necessarily too big.

Upon requesting the bill I noticed one item being pressed three times on the receipt and mentioned that to the staff. It took 3 seperate ladies to fix that, yet here comes the "interesting" part: The total before was: 243.60 The faulty 2/3 items were a total of: 4.00 After they took it off our bill the total resulted to: 243.10. You don't need to be a mathematician to see that 0.50 cents was taken off instead of 4 euros.

We paid the bill as is, but it is definitely something to mention as an improvement. If this company adds "small amounts" to every customer, that would add up nicely on their part.

To add: They apologized for the inconvenience and did not offer to change it. At that point I was fed up with the incompetence and just offered to pay. Their price - quality ratio in regards to their meals isn't properly evaluated to my opinion too.

Some positive notes: Their inside area as well as their outside area are quite big and spacious.

They had a bouncy castle outside where the kids could play.

They have an extended menu for drinks and food. With plenty of kids options.

They have colouring plates for kids and their pancakes come with a tiny toy.

They do clear tables fairly quickly.

Overall I left underwhelmed with our experience dining here. They have potential and plenty of room to grow, yet would not recommend this restaurant to...

Mixed feelings - great or below expectations! We've visited de Turfhoeve multiple times for a company dinner and we gladly come back, their pea soup is a classic, ribs are great, steaks are also just fine, service is also professional and courteous. So in all of those cases I would go with 4 stars here. The one certain downside being that it usually takes quite some time from order to prepare the meals, half an hour is not a suprise, but if you get a starter before then you're good. Recently though, we've visited this joint during lunch time, there is even a special lunch menu with mostly sandwiches, a burger, a little salad at more affordable prices then rest of the menu. Still, we had to wait around 45 minutes for a lunch order, that's really disappointing. Some of the group were really dissatisfied with the burgers received... I was really happy with my BLTC...

Monday dinner visit at terrace table, lots of shaded (trees) parking space. Couple of charging stations (saw 2, perhaps more). Lovely concept, especially with kids! On the same menu: pancakes with numerous toppings and regular plus special dishes. Again, ideal with kids: My boy eats a pancake, whilst tasting my salmon with culinary veggies. Building exquisite taste! The area has 2 concepts restaurants under 1 roof. The other beeing Brazilian AYCE. The playground (permanent) and bounce castle (temporary?) are accessible for customers of anything in the area. 1 star less for service as wrong drinks were delivered and they never checked during the dinner if everything...
