I absolutely loved this hotel. The hotel reflects the feel of the village - it is quaint and cozy. Our room was rather spacious and our private bath was larger than the one we had in Amsterdam. The absolute only reason for "very good" rather than "excellent" rating is because the room didn't have air conditioning (my husband and I are cold sleepers) and the stairways are rather narrow so it was a little difficult dealing with our larger luggage pieces. Finally, the beds were a lower and on the short side (I realize this is not uncommon in Europe) but my husband is 6"4 and his feet hung off the bottom (which was actually super funny) because the bed was too small for him. ||||The staff at the restaurant was amazing. I have Celiac Disease and require a specific diet or I will be severely ill. The staff was notified, and for breakfast had blocked off a specific area at our table just for gluten free items so they would not get cross-contaminated. That was a level of detail in service that I have rarely experienced anywhere, let alone in a quiet village. I was very grateful for the care they took to...

Read moreAn absolute gem of a place! Very homely and cosy with caring and attentive staff who really seemed happy to be there working :) it really was like a home from home in my opinion. Newly refurbished bedrooms in a boho style, very clean and spacious shower room, copious amounts of hot water and comfortable beds. The dining room was really busy during lunch and in the evenings which speaks for itself. The little town is pleasant to wander around and the hotel is located right opposite the church filled with pots of beautiful tulips. It seemed a well-loved little town. In easy driving distance to Tulum where we enjoyed the beautiful stretches of beach and the nearby town of Leiden and, the main reason for our visit, the Keukenhof Gardens! Whether travelling as friends, family, solo or as part of a group, I am sure the hotel would cater to your every need and give you an extremely warm welcome and pleasant visit. Would highly recommend the lovely breakfast! |Side note: Gluten free options available throughout all menus which was important...
