We went for dinner in the middle of the week, booked a table earlier so the restaurant knew we were coming. It took them 90 minutes to get us our starters. The staff claimed the kitchen was busy but seemed to not realize we didn't even get the starters at this point. I ordered mushrooms on toast and the mushrooms were cold and toast hard as rock. If I had to guess I would say our starters were prepared and lay forgotten somewhere until we spoke up about lack of service. The main course was another hour away, so 2.5h after we arrived. The food was fine. By the time we finished and managed to get a hold of staff, we said it's gone too late and we want to skip the dessert and just get the bill. The waitress left and returned without a bill but to inform us that the desserts were ready if we wanted them. We reiterated it was too late and we wanted the bill. The waitress disappeared and proceeded to serve other customers. We just made our way to the desk to pay. We were comped two cokes for our troubles, but honestly? That was not enough. I understand they were busy and the kitchen was swamped, but this place requires reservations, so presumably they know how many patrons they expect and perhaps they shouldn't take bookings they cannot accommodate. It was really the worst burger I have ever tasted in my life. Moreover, my husband and I both bought burgers and we both just tasted them and left them. They were made of frozen meat and the meat was fried by absorbing oil like a sponge and smelled very bad. When we shared this situation, our plates were taken away from us and the waiter accepted that the meat was frozen and never offered us any other solution and brought us the desserts we ordered directly. As people who came here for the first time and had an experience, we regretted not eating hamburgers in the hotel restaurant! On top of that, they did not offer any discount. I have been here three times: once they took 45 minutes to serve us a 2 cocktails; once they brought us food after 40 minutes (overpriced pub food, with a burger below par); today I went there, sat outside with my dog, a waitress cam and told us that they won’t serve me food outside because it rained before (it was not raining then, and it would clearly not be raining for the following 45 minutes as the weather was on the mend), she then added that I could not be served inside because I had a dog.
