Ordered schnitzel with fries. Fries were mediocre but OK-ish, but the schnitzel turned out to be deep fried, and for way too long. Turns out the timer was set for 90 seconds too long, and they offered to make me a new schnitzel, but pan fried, which they did. Took them quite a while and it wasn't very busy so it could have been a lot faster. The new schnitzel looked excellent, like a schnitzel is supposed to look. Until I flipped it over and it was BLACK on the bottom. I brought it back to the manager and she could only roll her eyes and offer me a new one. No thanks, I'd like my money back...
The manager handled the situation very well, she was very friendly and helpful and I don't blame her one bit, but I'm not returning any time soon. Disgusting food, how hard can it be to screw up such simple meals...

The concept for this restaurant is great, meals with fresh ingredients prepared to order. A greenhouse delivers fresh herbs for the well sorted salad bar. A couple of rich soups are on offer. A wonderful pizza oven promises Italian flavours. Steak, roast chicken and burgers compete well with the McDonald's across the road.
However, the restaurant is too big to feel really cozy, the promised open fireplace has not been lit since La Place opened.
But the downfall of the concept is the fact that it costs 80 cents to use the bathroom, even for patrons. So one has to fumble for small change at the toilet barrier to use it, and that's after spending 40 Euros on food.
This degrades in our opinion the whole concept....

We only had breakfast. Very good deal price wise, but the place is terribly noisy. And to be out of cheese for breakfast at 8 in the morning is OTT...

If you would do it, then here's some more info about the noise: Due to machinery (possibly juicers) in the premisses, I was convinced that at one point a motorcycle was driving around in the restaurant. We had a laugh about it soon after, but at the very moment it was somewhat...
