De Pizzabakkers Peppelweg — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Fantastic Aperol spritz. Maybe the best one I had out of Italy. Surely the best Dutch one I had so far.

Bruschetta was very nice, I had the classic tomato and a Coppa variant(that changes depending on what you get on your main dish, I was told) The Copa was really good. You can tell they source their meatwares from a good Italian source.

I had a monthly special , pizza canibale. A fennel salami, a spicy salami and crumbled sausage and a bit of red onion with tomato sauce and mozarella. The Coppa had me at a level of expecting good, and that pizza delivered. Crispy in all the right places, super tasty dough with a super crispy edge. I wish it would've lasted longer. (Kidding, the size was perfect)

The Panna cotta with red berry sauce was just SO smooth and JUST perfect.

Also very child friendly. Accessible by wheelchair, but the normal toilets are in the basement (very clean) I'm not sure if they have an alternative on the ground floor.

We come to this place on a regular basis with 2 kids but today we were very disappointed. Our order got somehow initially lost and of course this can happen. When the order has been taken the second time, we waited 1 hour for a pizza which with hungry kids was a nightmare. We asked twice if kids could get something while we are waiting for pizza and we were told that there was nothing available. Ik heb voor de eerste keer een pizza besteld bij De Pizza Bakkers op de Peppelweg in Rotterdam. Bij levering werd de pizzadoos overhandigd en de bezorger leek er vrij haastig vandoor te gaan. Ik zag bij het omdraaien de doos dat deze niet goed dicht zat en bij openen zag ik een in elkaar gepropt hoopje pizzabodem met wat uitstekende salami schijfjes. Ook was de pizza koud. Ik heb de bezorger terug geroepen en de pizza laten zien waarna hij mij in gebroken Engels excuses aanbood om me vervolgens naar de klantenservice door te verwijzen. De pizza bakkers gebeld en die gaven aan dat het een probleem was van de tussenpersoon, Thuisbezorgd, en dat het probleem maar met hun opgelost moest worden. Ik kreeg dus geen nieuwe pizza en moest maar contact opnemen met Thuisbezorgd. Het nummer van thuisbezorgd 053-4805860 werd beantwoord door een computer die aangaf dat contact via de website moest waarna de verbinding werd verbroken. Ik heb werkelijk zelden zo’n slechte service ervaren als deze, zowel van Thuisbezorgd als van De Pizza Bakkers.

De eigenaar van pizzabakkers heeft mij de eerst volgende dag gebeld om aan te geven dat het aanbieden van de pizza zo inderdaad niet hoort. Ook heeft hij uitleg gegeven waarom het aan zijde ligt van thuisbezorgd en niet aan pizzabakkers.

Desalniettemin hebben ze contact opgenomen met thuisbezorgd om het bedrag terug te laten betalen en een voucher aangeboden om een keer gratis pizza af te halen. Nette oplossing, vandaar dan ook een...
