As Americans traveling in Aruba, weāve made it our mission to eat at the local places. This experience was perfect. The girl cooking for us was so sweet and the Johnny Cakes were excellent. This is off the beaten path. We sat on their patio and saw many locals stop by to pick up their food while we were there. Being our first day there, we hadnāt paid attention to the exchange rate, but our total for four different cakes (salt fish, chicken and cheese, ham and cheese, cheese) and three locally made sodas was under $20USD. We loved the lady who owns the place and her personality. We ended up ordering a Chicken & Cheese, Ham & Cheese and the Saltfish & Cheese. We also tried a Vita Malt. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ventured out to visit Groteberg on our way to Baby Beach, and boy, are we glad we did! The staff was so friendly and took the time to explain their options.
We had one saltfish and one chicken and cheese Johnny cake. Both were delicious, but the saltfish took the cake. The filling was so moist, flavorful, and delicious.
We already know we're going to visit again next time...
