Restaurant Sence — Restaurant in Schouwen-Duiveland

Based on the prices vs food quality this is a definite 5 star, but there are few spots for improvement which I think they should not be missed. Spaghetti carbonara were fairly well made, but the sauce was not mixed enough so there were few bogger parts of egg. Pizza is PizzaHut crust style and very richly stuffed. They have also all pizzas in kids size. Up to this point it was a 5 star review (I rate in compareable price segment), but then Damme Blanche came as basically 2 vanilla ice cream scoops and chokolate sauce. Cmmon, it should be warm, and it should be a lot of chokolate. The whipped cream was swirled to the side and barely there. Definitely a room for improvement.

Service was really helpful, but they lack some drive (what you order at start it is). For additional items you have to ask yourself and menus are gone from the table the moment you order. A good tip is if kitchen takes a bit longer to leave at least desert part of menu on table and drop by for additional drinks to keep the pace going.

Overall this should be a 5 star review, but on the end the slow pace (our drinks were empty before food came) and misserable desert dropped...

Nice place and good pizza but had a bad experience with one order. I clearly asked for a big bottle of sparkling water (as for the menu 0,75l / 6,5eur) and shortly after I got a coca cola glass of sparkling water of 0,4l (not specified on the menu). We clarified several times with the waitress that brought it (who was different from the guy to whom i ordered) that we did order a big bottle of water and she insisted this was our order. We then asked to the orginal waiter after a while and he said he understood I wanted a big glass of water. The final bill lists ‘limo groot for 5,6eur’. We asked for clarification and apparently this is the cost of a big glass of water. I do not speak dutch but I can assure you that there was not any lemon nor taste of lemon in the water I had. Moral of the story, if you ask for a big bottle of water make sure you do not get a big glass of it and report back...

Wir sind nun zum zweiten Mal in diesem "Hotel" untergekommen. Eigentlich ist es eine hervorragende Pizzeria, die "nebenbei" auch ein paar Zimmer vermietet. Die Zimmer sind - auch in der Hochsaison - recht preisgünstig. ||||Allgemein:||Das "Hotel" besitzt keine typische Rezeption und man meldet sich an der Theke des Restaurants an. Es gibt meist nur einen Mitarbeiter, der sich mit dem Hotelprozedere auskennt. Die Mitarbeiter sind aber immer sehr freundlich. Das Hotel bietet keinen Verpflegungsservice an (nicht mal ein Frühstück). Die Einrichtung ist oldschool. Das kostenfreie W-Lan ist leider meist sehr schwach und nicht an allen Stellen im Zimmer vorhanden.||||Zimmer 1:||Das Zimmer was wir beim ersten Mal bezogen haben, war "ok". Das Bett war für 1-2 Nächte in Ordnung, es gab einen kleinen Kühlschrank, einen Tisch mit 2 Stühlen und das Bad war auch ok. Wenn man das Fenster öffnet, bekam man manchmal leckeren Pizzaduft ab und die Aussicht war nicht sehr schön.||||Zimmer 2:||Das Zimmer, welches wir dieses Mal bezogen, war ein Mäuseloch. Es war wirklich extrem klein. Ein Bett, rechts und links ein Nachttisch und vor Kopf ein Kleiderschrank und ein Mini-Tischchen mit kleinen Kühlschrank. Insgesamt gab es ums Bett rum ca. einen 30cm breiten Gang. Mehr Platz gab es nicht. Auch fehlte leider ein Mülleimer :-(. Jetzt kommt aber die Krönung: Das Bad war eine Katastrope. Auf ca. 2,25 qm eine Duschtasse, ein Waschbecken und eine Toilette. Wenn man auf die Toilette wollte, musste man sich halb unter das Waschbecken falten - nichts für große oder korpulentere Menschen.||||Die Frage ist wirklich, welche Erwartungen man an ein Hotelzimmer hat.
