De Gouden Lepel — Restaurant in Sittard-Geleen

All you can eat, with higher quality. To give you an idea, we came from Bruxelles (Belgium)!

The place was crowded at 18h30 and almost empty at 20h00! The wait time was quite short.

Now, the food. There is a great assortment. More than in your average all you can eat. They have French cuisine like "coquilles saint jaques". Yes, you read it well :-)

Also, we had a Khmer, comming from Belgium, going to Nederlands to eat a French meal! Sure, something has to be worth it!

The places are generous, overweight people can sit with ease. I saw people twice my size having no trouble there. It's also weel chair accessible. Which is very rare.

Back to food: sushi, carbonade, choux de Bruxelles, salad, "gratin dauphinois", hareng, cotelettes, french fries, ... There is even candies available. Like the one you find for 1$ per 100gr.

Drinks are all you can drink. But beers are 1% alchool instead of 5%. For Belgian guy, that's a bit light. But it's quite ok since you can safely drive back! They serve Ice tea in small doses, but you can ask again and again.

Clients are well meneered and it's not as noisy as you typical all you can eat.

Waiters do speak English. Enough to get the job done. They also cather for their client and ask you for drink refill.

Price on a Sunday was 31.25€. That's the price of quality. Worth it!

Also, blasphemy to not pickup cheese. But be warned old and normal cheese are mixed and if you do not pay attention, you will taste it ^^ Both cheese are very good.

Lastly, their napkins are of very high quality. That's maybe odd to review these, but you could dry yourself after a shower witg them! And their brand is very well printed: it's a luxury item. It add to the comfort and great feeling/filling.

If you don't enjoy it, all you can eat is definitely...

Positives: The food is of acceptable quality, similair to other "All you can eat" restaurants. The staff is friendly and keen to help you out whenever you run into trouble.

Negatives: They only play really dull popsongs which are known by everyone, resulting in the music not adding something to the sphere of the restaurant, but rather being annoying white noise your brain has to tolerate. As said before, the food is acceptable, but nothing to write home about. You're better off watching a how-to on youtube and doing it yourself. It's way too noisy. The restaurant is close to a highway, so if you look outside of the windows you'll see only cars racing by. Again, not building to the atmosphere of this restaurant.

Tl;dr you're better off saving your money for something else. This is neither worth your...

This was the worst restaurant I ever bin too. The food was disgusting!!! My boyfriend and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant looks nice from the inside and the food looks good but it wasn’t even good it was so disgusting !
