Spetters — Restaurant in Sluis

After we had the pleasure of experiencing an evening at Spetters in the summer, we knew that this restaurant wasn't just worth a stop or a diversion - in our opinion, it's actually worth a trip!

So we travelled all the way from Düsseldorf for our wedding anniversary weekend to crown said anniversary with dinner at Spetters. Once again, we were impressed by the incredible culinary skills of Laurent Smallegange and his team. Rarely have we (in July and last night) enjoyed such a perfect and extraordinary menu. Every single course shone with great products that were perfectly, boldly, exceptionally, flavourfully and incredibly well-balanced combined!

The service was equally marvellous, especially from sommelier Andres Cocquyt (and also the service team): charming, entertaining, professional and present, but never too much. All this, combined with the clear but cosy ambience in the beautiful restaurant with its magnificent view over the harbour, makes these evenings at Spetters a real experience! Thank you for that! We are already looking forward to seeing you again...

Laurent and his team truly deliver! What a great one-star experience. Nice ambiance, excellent service and amazing culinary creations! My wife and I are both seafood lovers and this is the place to be. With childhood memories of Zeeland vacations and warm feelings towards this great Dutch province a dinner experience like this solidifies it all! We enjoyed a stunning 7 course menu. Everything was beautifully presented, from the delicious amuse-bouches (with the stunning "ode to the shrimp fisherman" - that alone would be worth a visit already) to the friandises with the espresso - every single course was a true delight and absolutely worth two Michelin stars in our opinion. The service, the location right at the harbor - it's a perfect place... and we will be back,...
