A nice family-run restaurant with friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and tasty dishes. It was a good thing we had made reservations in advance, because the place was packed with locals. Customers who came to pick up their ordered were lined up outside. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and friendly. All the elements that point to this being a great Asian restaurant were there, including the calendar on the wall. The restaurant advertised as being a Chinese-Vietnamese restaurant, but they serve typical Dutch-Chinese fusion dishes as well. More surprising to me were the Thai dishes on the menu as well as Surinam-style roasted pork. Typical Dutch-Chinese fusion dishes are heavily influenced by Indonesian cuisine, but adjusted to the Dutch taste (it has been tamed down). We went for the Vietnamese menu and added a bit of babi pangang and spicy chicken. The beef, Vietnamese satay and spicy chicken were excellent. The babi pangang and salads a bit too much adjusted to the Dutch. They noodles and fried rice are what you typically get in a Dutch-Chinese restaurant and thus an abomination to your taste buds. No taste whatsoever. We don’t blame the restaurant for this, it is what Dutch people want. It would be nice though if the restaurant gave you the opportunity to spice things up a bit. The staff is friendly and eager to make you feel welcome and they really go out of their way to make you feel at home.
All-in-all we had a great evening and highly recommend...
Read moreWe, a family with a baby, stumbled upon this place almost by mistake while driving back from Giethoorn to Amsterdam. It's a family run buisness, they were lovely! From the second we got in We were welcomed with a smile and alot of patience in explaining dishes while ordering. The food was good and was served nicely. They had a few games for our 2 year old son which provided alot of entertainment for him and peace of mind for us. It was a beautiful gesture. In addition, the daughter came and played with our boy, he fell in love with her!
In overall we had a really nice experience and time dining here and recommend anybody to stop by and visit the nice...
Read moreWe tried it once when we were staying in the city in a camp. We had to translate the menu using different tools and translators but we did not regret our choices. Kids loved sweet and sour chicken, I enjoyed the Kong Pao chicken a lot and last but not least chicken Bami noodles were delicious. Packing boxes are stable and good enough to bring the food back safely. The staff was nice and helpful even we did not speak dutch and they did not speak English. There were so many people coming in and out with their boxes during the time we waited there and now I know why... can...
