Eetcafé de Rog — Restaurant in Texel

If you visit Texel you really have to sit in this place. Nice view, small but perfect menu where everyone can find something preferable to eat. We really enjoyed the meat and vegetarian food there and especially the friendly barman that made a very tasty latte(unfortunately we didn't have that again on the other visits because was someone else making the coffee). We blame the situation of Corona and not the staff. Food was heavenly good..

Eetcafe de Rog is located in the village of cocksdorp on the island of Texel. The serve traditional extremely tasty (lekker) food at inexpensive prices. We had lunch there today afternoon and ate Broodje Pikante Kip (chicken sandwich), Brooke De Rog (cheese and ham sandwich) and toasty ham and cheese. For desert Dame Blanche and Homemade Brownie with Ice Cream. Everything was delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful too. Besitzerwechsel!!! Leider entzaubert :-(

Wir hatten heute einen Tisch reserviert in einem unserer Lieblingsrestaurants auf Texel, dem De Rog. Seit Jahren kamen wir immer sehr gerne hier her.

Leider hat der Besitzer gewechselt und vieles hat sich verändert. Wir kamen um 17:15h pünktlich zur reservierten Zeit. Kamen uns aber wie Störenfriede vor. Wir wurden überrascht und zurückhaltend begrüßt als die ersten Gäste an diesem Abend. Dann erstmal stehen gelassen. Das Personal hat an einem Tisch in Ecke gegessen.

Dann wurden wir zu unserem Tisch geführt. Leider klebte dort noch etwas von den vorherigen Gästen.

Das Bier Skuumkoppe vom Fass, dass ich serviert bekam, schmeckte schal und alt. Es war das erste aus der Leitung. Ich trank zwei Schlucke und ließ es dann zurückgehen. Bekam dann ein frisches, kleines (statt vorher großes). Dies war aber trinkbar.

Die Speisekarte hat sich auch verändert. Aber schlimmer noch, dass nette Personal, dass diesen Ort mit Leben und einer Atmosphäre der Gastfreundschaft gefüllt hat, ist leider komplett verschwunden.

Meinen absoluten Beilagen-Favoriten, den leckeren Rotkrautsalat mit Rosinen, gibt es leider auch nicht mehr.

Die Vorspeise war etwas lieblos. Der Hauptgang war gut. Wir hatten Steak und Kabeljau. Insgesamt aber recht kleine Portionen.

Alles in allem kein Grund mehr für uns , um wieder zu kommen. Wirklich...
