I just changed my review from 5 to 1 star and here is why: I know this beach club since I was born. I spent a good amount of my pocket money for icecream here when I was a child. I know all the changes over the years and was one of the first kinda-stoked customers when the pavillion was open through the winter. As a homeowner on the island, it was a pleasure to have dinner in the winter and walking home through the cold breeze.I really loved that.

In the past 2 years there were some changes I really dont like. In the start of the season the portion sizes drastically changed to minimum size. I think this has leveled out a bit but never the less, the tendency is still the same: We were charged 7,50 € for a beer tonight. The "new" signature beer isnt even that good. Just to be clear: I dont know any place on the whole Island where you have to pay more than 5,50 € for half a liter. The half liter isnt even on the menu so you get your surprise with the bill. (Funny: 0,3 is 4€ - if you buy the 0,5 that would be 6,66 € in the per-liter price. You are overcharged for the large beer.)

As I said before, we had a great time together. I grew up in this place and we had plans on celebrating our wedding here (which we wanted to discuss this week but that just vanished magically). You lost a loyal customer today, if not one of the most loyal you coud think...

Worst.... experience..... ever..... to put it mildly. Website, location and first and foremost the prices suggest an upper class dining experience. Food, ambience and especially the service rather add up to a better fries stand experience. Especially since we had a 30th birthday to celebrate, which we addressed during reservation, this was close to a nightmare. Our reservation was mishandled, instead of a table in the 1st floor restaurant we were given a table downstairs right at the entrance from the very crowded terrace. Awesome location for a romantic dinner as you can imagine...... When talking to a waiter about this the rather uninterested answer was that he already gave us a nice table and we should be fine with it. So as you can see clearly a business where customer satisfaction is at the center #ironyrules

So if you are looking for a special individual dining experince, go to any restaurant there is in Texel but this. If you are looking for mediocre fries and burgers in an ambience of Mallorca’s famous Ballermann 6, you’re spot...

A nice place to eat, but let down by one of the staff who confronted me about my drone which I'd placed on the ground. She said it's not allowed to fly it on the beach and that security would say the same. I mentioned that it's not a no-fly zone but she still insisted. I then spoke to security who said it's fine to fly a drone. I said this to her and she continued to insist and that she knows better because she works there (I'm not sure how working as a waitress on the beach means she knows all about drone flying regulations unless this is part of her training which I very much doubt). She became rude and displayed attitude, then complained to her manager. The manager came out, and I explained everything to him. He agreed that she had no right to lecture me on drone use on the beach. But the entire situation could've been avoided if she didn't have drone phobia and kept her nose out of...
