Ordered 2 Mandy Kip at this restaurant, only received 1. Proceeded to call the restaurant and during the call the employee kept telling me to call Uber to fix the issue, then his final solution was for me to place another order on Uber for something small and they would add the missing dish. I told the employee that I'd still have to pay for that order, so that didn't make sense but he was convinced this was the right solution. I asked to speak to the manager, but he was too busy. After a frustrating discussion on the phone I decided to go to the restaurant myself and pick up the correct order. Upon getting there the discussion immediately started again with the employees trying to convince me it was Uber's fault and they couldn't fix it. I mentioned how the restaurant was completely empty, so kind of confused why the manager didn't have time to talk on the phone. Apparently the manager/owner of the restaurant heard me (when I came in he was videocalling on his phone, did not seem very busy to me) and immediately came down the stairs talking about respecting the restaurant. At no point during this conversation did any of them express any regret for me simply not having received my order and having to come get it myself, over 2 hours later. These people have 0 sense of responsibility, the owner of the restaurant is very rude and doesn't care about his customers. The employees are just a bunch of kids who don't care either. I used to be a regular customer here, never ordering from here again. At the end I left while they still tried to convince me I should have called Uber, still expressing 0 remorse for the situation. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Update: response from the restaurant is nonsense. They did not place the item in the order themselves and kept referring to this as Uber's mistake. I'm also wondering what solution they were trying to discuss while I went to pick up the order, as I solved the issue by picking up the order myself. No attempt was made to actually solve anything. Like I said 0 sense of responsibility...
Read moreMy daughter, my friends and I decided to spend the Eid Al Adha holiday in The Hague. A friend recommended this restaurant to us and advised us to make a reservation over the phone because it gets crowded on weekends, especially if we wanted to enjoy the Arabic seating. Since we live far from The Hague, I made a reservation over the phone for five people and they confirmed that there was a place with Arabic seating.
Last Saturday I ate at the Yemeni House restaurant in The Hague. The staff and service were excellent. We tried the cocktail and the mango juice which were excellent. The Zurbian was good. The Masoub was also okay. However, I do not recommend the oven-baked fish. The Kunafa was also not good. It was written with pistachios but it only smelled like them and the bottom part was burnt.
Unfortunately, they gave us a place at a table for four people. They apologized and said it was crowded. And if we wanted the Arabic seating, we would have to wait an hour. We waited for more than an hour and then decided to eat at the table instead. My day was ruined. I hope that the organizing will improve.
Why do we need to make a reservation by phone if the restaurant is unable to provide the spot for us? The restaurant can...
