Sadly this restaurant did not live up to it’s expectations, starting from the very beginning of our experience.
Due to it’s location in the middle of Zuiderpark, the restaurant provides a free shuttle service to and from the parking area, which can be pre-booked upon reservation. We had ordered the shuttle for 7:30 pm as we were quite a large group, yet it was nowhere to be seen. Upon calling the restaurant at 7:35, a lady picked up the phone in Dutch and rudely hung up when we asked where the shuttle was in English. We should have probably left after this negative experience, yet we decided to walk to the restaurant where the shuttle was (of course) parked right outside.
The service throughout the order was generally of a slightly higher quality than that experienced with the shuttle-service, yet not very welcoming or apologetic for our poor start to the evening. Food and non-alcoholic cocktails were delicious, yet pricey judging by the relatively small portion sizes. Interior decor is beautiful, and the restaurant is modern and spacious.
After we had finished our main course, we were approached by a manager passing who asked everyone for a good review of the restaurant. Quite an unexpected experience and not one you would expect from such a fancy establishment. We were not expecting any compensation for our very poor reception, yet asking customers for a review after our experience is maybe not the best idea, and definitely ruined the rest of the meal.
Upon paying and leaving the restaurant, we were not offered the shuttle service back to the parking area. On our way back through the park, we were passed by the shuttle, whose driver did not stop or ask us if we needed a ride (a small yet helpful gesture considering that the park was very dark at that time, and also considering the fact that the free shuttle service was advertised on their website).
It’s definitely a shame that such a high-end restaurant with good food options represents itself so terribly. There are plenty of other Turkish restaurants in The Hague with much better service that treat their guests rightly. Safe to say I will not be...
Read moreI was not satisfied with my experience at LOSH. They present themselves as a luxury restaurant with dress codes, shuttle buses, and a polished social media presence, but it all feels like a facade. The actual experience was far from impressive.
We arrived around 12:00 and were finally seated by 12:30. A table next to us, which happened to be Turkish customers, was seated around 13:00 and received their food by 13:15. Meanwhile, by 13:45, we still hadn’t been served anything. It genuinely felt like Turkish customers were prioritized over others. When I asked the waiter how long it would take for our food to arrive, I got a standard, robotic response: “within 15 minutes.” It wasn’t convincing, especially when other groups who arrived around the same time were also still waiting and starting to complain.
The service was disorganized and inefficient, with some groups even leaving out of frustration.
As for the food, it was decent but nothing special. The bread tasted like it came straight from the supermarket, and the portions were underwhelming, particularly for a group of seven. While it was nice that you can refill most items except meat and fries, the overall quality didn’t match the hype. The tea wasn’t to my taste, but that might be a personal preference.
Honestly, the Turkish breakfast I’ve enjoyed at a friend’s house was far more authentic and satisfying than what LOSH served. It feels like a commercialized version of what could be a genuinely rich and flavorful experience.
By the end, we were full, so the basic goal was achieved, but the path to getting there was clumsy and unprofessional. It’s disappointing because LOSH has potential, but the execution was far from what they seem to promise.
Wouldn’t recommend unless they improve their service and...
Read moreI recently visited Losh Restaurant in The Hague and had an incredibly disappointing experience despite the beauty of the place. The staff and service were appalling, especially the manager, who displayed extreme rudeness.
When we arrived at 21:45, the manager initially refused us entry, claiming the restaurant was closed, despite the posted closing time being 23:00 and other patrons still dining. It was clear that his refusal was based on our Arab heritage. He repeatedly pointed towards the door with his hand, insisting we leave with every sentence he spoke.
Upon pointing out the discrepancy in their closing time, he grudgingly allowed us to enter but then refused to let us sit on the terrace because we had children. I offered to stay inside with my children while my wife and her friends sat on the terrace, but he rudely questioned how I would manage without a woman with me, despite being accompanied by five women. To add insult to injury, he claimed they were out of food.
While we were discussing this, another group of guests arrived with a child and were allowed to stay on the terrace and smoke shisha without any issues. This blatant double standard was infuriating.
Ultimately, I decided not to stay, and when my wife tried to speak to another manager, the same manager spoke to her in an incredibly disrespectful manner, telling her to "shoo" and leave, again pointing towards the door.
I strongly advise against visiting Losh Restaurant if you are not Turkish. The discriminatory attitude and disrespectful treatment we experienced were...
