Koekela Den Haag — Restaurant in The Hague

We became rather regular visitors in the place, before I noticed 2 things, that we're a bit weird. Firstly, every time you have coffee with cake inside, they add additional 1 euro on each piece of cake without saying it. Also this difference in price for eat-in or take-away is not indicated on display. I basically just noticed on the receipt that instead of 2,80 it was 3,80. I mean it's okay, if that's the business model, but customer should be aware of it before paying. Secondly, there is a good choice of cakes and they are tasty, but unfortunately not fresh, but frozen :-(...

Ordered a cake 4 days in advance from the website, choosing for the ''fresh'' option. When I went to pick it up, they only had frozen. I had guests for the next day so I picked it up ( they didnt offer any discount). Unfortunately, the biscuit base of the cake was not very crunchy. If I wanted frozen, I would have gone to the Albert Heijn or Hema.

Koekela used to be the best bakery when they first started their business, now the quality...

A wonderful place for dessert lovers. You can find many types of cakes, cookies and muffins. The restaurant has already marked its own recommendations on the menu. It would be very logical to choose one of these. I tried one of those recommendations, "Naked Velvet", and found it very successful.
